Perfect example of how the media makes excuses for players they like

quote:

Carson Palmer had two more interceptions for touchdowns that increased his career total to 15, the most of any quarterback since 2004. There is no question the Terrell Owens acquisition has thrown him off. After his first interception for a score during the 23-7 loss to the Steelers, Palmer had a sideline discussion with Owens about his route and walked away frustrated after he listened to Owens' explanation. …

It is Owens' fault that Palmer sucks even though Palmer has sucked for YEARS before Owens got there!

Tom Brady has improved with passes 15-plus yards down the field since the Patriots traded Randy Moss.

First 8 games Last 5 games
Comp pct 37.5 66.7
Yards/att 11.2 18.1
TD-Int 3-4 6-0
Passer rtg 65.2 149.3

Amazing how Brady's passer rating on deep balls has more than doubled since Moss left

You'd think that would have something to do with coverage, though.

Teams have shifted coverage closer to the line of scrimmage since Moss left.

Its amazing the free pass this guy gets when he hasn't been good since before his injury.

He's also the absolute master of the "garbage time TD pass".

I agree, but then I thought that the Saints DC Williams should have gotten the book thrown at him too when he revealed that he instructed his players to break the rules when they hit Favre in the NFCCG.

The Jets should be proactive and can the guy themselves.

The way the league has been with fines and such this season, the guy will get a $500 fine and a frowning from the commish.

GOODELL is such a FRAUD

THere is no consistency to his punishments. Of course coaches and owners get a fraction of the penalty that players get

I'm not sure what has happened to Miles Austin. The Cowboys are now paying Austin like a No. 1 receiver, but he's faded ever since Jon Kitna took over as quarterback. I realize that Kitna doesn't throw the ball down the field as much as Tony Romo, but it's not like Austin is only a vertical player. That looked like a hot read over the middle last night that glanced off Austin's hands for an Eagles interception. The ball appeared to surprise him, and I'm not sure why. He has too many drops and he's not taking advantage of his few opportunities. Jason Garrett has to figure out a way to get Austin going again. Surely the receivers haven't fallen apart because Dez Bryant's out of the lineup. It's not like he was putting up huge numbers over the past month.

If you’re not convinced about the fact that the Michael Vick Redemption Project is the number one story this year in the NFL, then tell me how you feel after seeing that the Eagles-Vikings game has been moved to Sunday night at 8pm. The game will be telecasted on NBC and will be the sixth primetime game for the Birds this season.

The Eagles are 5-0 in primetime games and they’ve become the league’s best show. Excitement is always right around the corner when you’ve got Vick, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin on the field at the same time.

Surely the broadcasters were impressed by the ratings which last night’s Eagles-Cowboys game received. It was the highest rated NBC telecast of the season and tied a previous Eagles-Giants contest for the highest rated NBC “Sunday Night Football” game ever.

It's a shame that throwing a pretty ball and running fast can redeem someone.

If he was sucking would people be less forgiving?

Not sure which is sadder.

No, his actions have redeemed him.

What is a shame is narrow minded people who don't believe in forgiveness.

Dude paid his price and now is reaping the rewards from living right.

In America Jr we vilify players that had the audacity to play for a rival. Wish horrible things happen to said evil doer and prop up our criminals, well the ones who are super athletic, to the highest order.

Just like you guys.

He more than paid his price and anyone who can't deal with it that is their personal issue.

I don't like anyone who kills dogs. They should go to jail. He did.
