Damn right Childress was the cancer!

I find it sad, though I know it is his own fault, that there is a good chance Moss misses out on a ring again. NE could win it this year, then Moss can come back for a year or two where they'll fall short.

Fate (98 Gary Anderson, 19 and D'Oh!) and Randy himself, doing whatever it takes to keep a ring of his finger.

We may have a new coach but I am gonna go out on a limb and sy it will be a seasoned guy who comes in here.

We may have a rookie QB on the roster, but I believe the skids are being greesed for McNabb to be here in 2011.

The Fine Fifteen

1. New England (13-2). Cinched homefield through the AFC playoffs by erasing Buffalo. I keep waiting for the running game to be shown as the Pats' weakness. It never will, at least not this year. By halftime yesterday, Danny Woodhead and BenJarvus Green-Ellis had outgained Tom Brady, 138 rushing yards to 75 passing yards. Amazing combo platter of two undrafted free agents excelling for the best team in football.

2. Atlanta (12-2). The Falcons clinch home field through the NFC playoffs by winning one of their final two -- versus New Orleans and Carolina, both at home. Be not afraid, Falcons fans.

3. Philadelphia (10-4). Fun Fact: Eagles and Vikes will play the first Tuesday NFL game since 1946.

4. Baltimore (11-4). Northeastern Football Alert: Ravens are still alive for the AFC North title (and a first-round playoff bye) by virtue of rushing 28 times in the Cleveland muck for 161 clock-eating yards.

5. Pittsburgh (11-4). They got out healthy. That's the best thing you can say about the Thursday night snoozefest win over Carolina.

6. New Orleans (10-4). Needs to win one game in the next seven days to clinch, at worst, the fifth seed.

7. (tie) Chicago (11-4). Terrific defensive effort in the second half by the Bears, spurred by Mr. Twitter, Chris Harris, with a last-minute interception to seal a 38-34 win over the Jets.

7. (tie) Green Bay (9-6). The Packer team that throttled the Giants 45-17 is the one I expected to see a lot more than the four or five times it has played that way this year.

9. Kansas City (10-5). Think of the Chiefs winning the AFC West title. That's amazing to me. Just amazing.

10. Indianapolis (9-6). Through backup running backs and backup wideouts and a backup tight end and backup offensive linemen, the Colts are starting to look like a team you don't want to play in the playoffs.

I have not heard one thing about Moss since he left Minnesota and signed with Tennessee. That team has tanked and Moss has barely been used. Not one word....Maybe Moss got the message, I don't know, but you put him on a team with as many weapons as we could have, and he gives you some effort, he makes it almost impossible to come up with a defensive scheme to stop everyone.

Thats just my opinion. Sure, plenty of people will say the exact opposite...but there is no way you can say that in the short time he was here things didn't open up for Harvin and Peterson. Our record may not have been indicative of that, but there are player on this team that would tell you different.

More than one player AD included publicly stated that Moss was a great locker room influence AND teammate.

If he had been that great of a teammate during practice and games, then it would have been perfect. We've found out over the years that it isn't enough to be a good pal in the locker room.

Randy Moss has been in Tennessee for 7 games

He has 5 catches
62 yards
0 TDs

In 4 games with New England his best game was 5 catches for 59 yards

That is Greg Camarillo numbers

27 catches
375 yards

for the year

He has 5 catches over 20 yards

for the year

That used to just be a good game.

Because he DID perform for Belichick, just not THIS year when I started channeling Randy Moss to come home.

I think Moss will perform with just about ANY coach the Vikes have over Childress, he clashed with him. I'm NOT sure the Vikes will have a rookie QB.

The poor numbers for Moss do NOT tell me he is done, it tells me he'll be MUCH easier to get, could end up being a steal. Even if he's not a steal, I think he likely ends up being a good pickup for the Vikes, another weapon with good height and hands to add to the arsenal.

At a minimum, "locker room presence" extends to the practice field. In fact it doesn't really say anything about being a good pal, it's refers to being a good teammate.

1) I'm not convinced he is. He's inconsistent and very one-dimensional. He doesn't hold a candle to AD IMO, when you consider their respective lines. I've said for a while; he's a better Willie Parker, and will likely flame out very fast.

2) All 3 of the AFC guys that got in over him were more deserving this year. Charles, Foster, and MJD. They've all had better years than him.

I'm guessing he will. But I still think Camarillo is fine as a WR on the team. Ideally we'd have something like this for our group:

Rice
Harvin
FA like Jacoby Jones, James Jones, or Early Doucet
Webb (backing up Rice)
Jaymar Johnson (backing up Harvin)
Camarillo (backing up FA)

Camarillo's under contract for one more year and as a 4th to 6th WR he's more than solid IMO.

If, as rumored, the Texans hire Wade Phillips as their DC, they'll win the AFC South next year IMO.

Peterson was only 6th in rushing yards and he is not great in the passing game
The Vikings were 10th in the NFL in rushing

Methinks people greatly overrate Peterson and our rushing attack

Personally, I think it's all down to our line. They have been the most overated thing in the NFL for years. For some reason the McDaniel, Birk, Stringer success has carried over to this sorry ass group. It's started with Mckinney@ #7 and continued through us "stealing" Hutchinson. Nobody on that group has earned a valid paycheck in years.

Part of it is the scheme but mostly it comes down to....they just aren't good.

Exactly. It's not Peterson's fault that our line blows. He still gets hit behind the line more than any RB in the game. Give him even a decent run-blocking unit, and he's breaking records again and leading the league in rushing. The playing field for AD is not fair.

Seriously, watch a bunch of the Titans' games; I do, unfortunately. If AD had CJ's line, he'd have 2,000 yards every year.

Not Peterson, he's simply amazing...it's the lack of blocking that should be bashed. It's amazing that 1. he gets as many yards as he does with the lack of blocking and 2. that he doesn't come out of the season unable to walk.

He's underutilized in the passing game btw. He does a fair job catching the ball and can really do damage in space. I saw a couple of big gains on screens this year...
