Peterson was only 6th in rushing yards and he is not great in the passing game
The Vikings were 10th in the NFL in rushing

Methinks people greatly overrate Peterson and our rushing attack

Not Peterson, he's simply amazing...it's the lack of blocking that should be bashed.  It's amazing that 1. he gets as many yards as he does with the lack of blocking and 2.  that he doesn't come out of the season unable to walk.

He's underutilized in the passing game btw.  He does a fair job catching the ball and can really do damage in space.  I saw a couple of big gains on screens this year...

Agreed on all counts. For all the talk about him lacking as a receiver, he had a better year in the passing game than Chris Johnson, for instance.

My fricken end table has more moves than Camarillo

Camarillo was a waste of roster space.

Watching him "return" punts is painful.   I'd rather have Darrius Reynaud back.

Maybe Jaymar Johnson can take up those duties next year?

I'm guessing he will. But I still think Camarillo is fine as a WR on the team. Ideally we'd have something like this for our group:

Rice
Harvin
FA like Jacoby Jones, James Jones, or Early Doucet
Webb (backing up Rice)
Jaymar Johnson (backing up Harvin)
Camarillo (backing up FA)

Camarillo's under contract for one more year and as a 4th to 6th WR he's more than solid IMO.

I can agree on that, but I don't ever want to see him "returning" punts again.

I'm with ya there. I'd like Harvin do it if he's up to it. Otherwise, find someone else. Maybe Jaymar Johnson is the guy next year.

No to Harvin as well.  He takes enough shots and that kid is a total stud.  We need him for as long as possible.  Maybe in a big game situation.

Bud Adams is an idiot, pure and simple:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/04/no-surprise-its-fisher-or-young-in-tennessee/

I'm not a Fisher fan at all, but no way would I side with Vince Young over him. I'd trade both if I were the Titans.

And they probably will try to trade Fisher; it'll be interesting to see where he winds up.

I'm surprised that the Cowboys don't get looked at by the NFL for their "adherence" to the Rooney Rule. I'm convinced the only reason they have Ray Sherman on staff is for him to meet that rule for them; he probably has a clause in his contract to that effect. "You must, umm, "interview" with us."

I thought that if they hire from within (i.e. promote Garret Jones to head coach) that they didn't need to satisfy the Rooney Rule.

No, I think you still do.

Also, it's Jason Garrett. You're thinking of the former Twin, who currently sucks with the Pirates.

Still, Jones has to go through the interview process. Jones hinted he could interview a potential candidate on Sunday night, but most likely it could happen on Monday and one of the first candidates could be wide receivers coach Ray Sherman. NFL rules state all teams must interview a minority to satisfy the Rooney Rule. Jones will also interview another candidate to fulfill the Rooney Rule requirements.

Depends on his contract:

The rule does not apply if an assistant coach has language in his contract guaranteeing him the head coaching job in case of an opening. For example, this was the case when Mike Martz took over as head coach of the St. Louis Rams before the 2000 season.

I don't think you can trade a coach anymore.

they changed the rules after the Gruden thing.

and the Titans would be fools to part with Fisher over a physically talented malcontented headcase like Vince Young.  Bud Adams can't be that dumb.  If he is, he's moving into the Al Davis senility club.

The Cowpukes already went around the Rooney rule with Parcells.  What makes you think Jones will adhere to it this time around?

Supposedly he is though, Scott. They've already sent out Christmas cards with Bud, Vince Young, and CJ on them (no Fisher).

I don't like either; if the Titans are smart they'll get rid of both and start over.

So of course they won't do that.

I can't say I like either of them myself...but if you are going to keep one over another...Fisher is a much better option to keep.

Absolutely I'd take Fisher over Young.

But neither will ever win a SuperBowl.

One of them came a yard short of doing just that.  And shutting down one of the most dynamic offenses ever devised in the process.  I wouldn't be so sure.

He also came a bad call away from being bounced out of the playoffs in the same year in the first round, at home. Fisher's an 8-8 coach basically. I'd rather have Denny Green.

How did Marvin Lewis not only retain his job, but get an extension? It's mind-boggling to me.

I think we can safely check Carson Palmer off the list of QB candidates.

I joked so someone a couple weeks ago that he should become a licensed probation officer and make some extra money on the side.

Good God!  Al Davis is one senile idiot.

Al Davis needs to realize that the reason the Raiders suck and will continue to suck for years to come is Al Davis.

Jeff Fisher is a jackass

He is the most overrated HC in the NFL

How many playoff games has his team won in the last decade?

He was the guy who passed on Moss when they had no WRs, right?

But for an illegal play in the Music City Miracle his ass would have been canned years ago.

Now that has nothing to do with Vince Young who lacks the maturity, not the skills, to be a solid NFL QB. I would can Young if I was the Titans and start over at QB. But I would also start over with a new coach.

Palmer is nothing more than a check down guy at this stage of his career.

The Bengals owners don't really care that much about winning.

I am not against Tom Cable getting fired. Sure, the team won more games but it didn't win the games it needed to win to make the playoffs. On top of that, his tenure has been marked by chaos. Bruce Gradkowski at QB? Really?

Now what Davis needs to do is hire a real sharp football mind and turn it all over to him.
