Do they even announce this stuff during the game?  The place I was hanging was so noisy I didn't hear any of this:

he Cowboys' win was dampened by the loss of safety Roy Williams, who left the game in the third quarter with a broken right forearm.

The Eagles only scored 7 of their 37 points after he left the game...

Coincidence.....I think not.

He can't cover you.

That is why "Pro Bowler" is meaningless.  Dallas claims to have so many PBs on defense yet it stinks.  They let a rookie, Baskett, and Greg Lewis put up 30 points on them in their house.

JC, but you ignore a LOT of factors.

1) Most think he would have beat Pittsburgh in their SuperBowl year if he didn't get hurt by a cheap shot.  If they do, perhaps they're the SuperBowl champ.
2) His surrounding team is terrible.  They have zero defense and zero OL.  You can't win without help.
3) He was coming off an ACL last year, so troubles were to be expected.
4) Chad and TJ are good receivers but they're not all-world.
5) There is still a ton of team turmoil there.  Personally, I think he can thrive on a good team with a solid group of players.

I do totally agree with you on Roy Williams, as you know.  Most overrated safety in the game; always has been.

New England will not make the playoffs with Matt Cassell at QB.  He is brutal.

Moss is completely useless there with this reject at QB.

Bill Belichick's refusal to go out and get a QB is kind of funny

Ya, this is kind of a throwaway year for NE, methinks.  No QB can do what Brady does.

But I do think they'll retool and be back as the favorites next year.

Their days as favorites are over.

It has been 4 years since the genius won anything.  The loss of top coaches over the years, insistence on sticking with old players on defense, lack of consistency in the running game are all catching up to them.

Moss will be another year older and Brady will not be sharp next year coming off a ACL.

Pass interference on Samuel if  you ask me on Washington in the  ezone.

Leftwich looks better this drive then Ben did. He can still thread the needle to the tight end.

I agree, I wanted the Super Bowl for Moss, but they won't have a chance until they get younger on d and Tom Brady is a year removed from the injury, 2010 at the earliest.

Tomlin could have kicked the field goal with a minute left. Then tried an onside, he let Phlly be done. I agree with Sims, make them play until the end.

Simms overblew that point.

THere was only 35 seconds left.  Even if they make the FG they have to get an onsides kick and still throw a hail mary to the end zone.

Basket with 8 catches for 85 yards but wasn't needed here.

McNabb in purple would give us a legit Super Bowl shot

The Pats got the snot beat out of them.

I wonder if Moss will pack it in on them.

Don't get me wound up on that again! That is probably why I rode McPunchin so hard.

I agree that McNabb in Purple would be great, would McNabb want to play for Childress again.

Depending on the seriousness of the injury Brady I would expect will be back and pretty much his old self for 2009. I don't believe his injury was as massive as Daunte's, and he doesn't depend on his legs like Daunte.

It doesn't have to be as bad.

I can't think of any QB who had ACL surgery and was good as new next year.

I think Brady's generally an exception to the rule, though.  And I expect them to get younger on defense in a hurry.  They do have a few guys that are solid youngsters that have been waiting in the wings.  We will see.

I finally get Randy in a FF league draft and he now is without a QB to get him the ball.

SUCKS FARGO

DJ

No one can say if Brady is the exception to the rule about coming back from ACLs because he hasn't done it before.

Greenway has.

The bottom line on the Pats is that they have gone 4 years with no Super Bowl wins and they may not EVER win another one with this regime.

I am sure that very few people in 2001 thought that the Yankees run was over.

Sheesh, Pats are 21-1 in their last 22 regular season games.
I'm gonna have to see some more evidence they are completely done before I throw dirt on them.
Kraft/Belichek are usually as proactive as any other club (imo), lets' see what they do.

TOAST

I will bet you anything you want to bet that they don't win a Super Bowl this year.

They probably won't even make the playoffs.

21-1 was WITH Brady, not Cassell - he has to be in the bottom 5 starters in the NFL.  He is worse than Jackson

I am LMAO at the arrogant one for not signing Simms or Culpepper

quote:

h. What a pretty throw from JaMarcus Russell to Johnnie Lee Higgins late in the game at Buffalo, a throw that covered 84 yards and should have been the clincher for the Raiders.
i. Clutch, clutch kick by Josh Scobee, the 51-yard field goal to put the dagger in Indy, 23-21. No pressure there, Josh. Just your team's season on the line.
j. The NFC East is 10-2.
6. I think this is what I didn't like about Week 3:
a. Chicago's tight ends are killing the offense. Last week it was two fumbles by Greg Olsen. This week, a dropped pass at the Tampa one by Desmond Clark.
b. The Rams have lost three games by an average of 29 points.
c. The Saints have had two come-back-to-haunt-you losses.
d. Can the Lions keep losing decisively and convince themselves they're still just fine? How?
e. Back to the drawing board at quarterback, Bears.
f. Matt Schaub is shell-shocked, from what I can see. His line isn't doing him any favors through eight quarters.
g. The Raiders have played 83 regular-season games since going to the Super Bowl. They've won 20 of them.
h. And the Chiefs are worse.
i. Another miserable day for Derek Anderson (14-of-27, 25 yards, one touchdown, three picks), and if Brady Quinn hadn't looked so shaky in the preseason, I'm sure the Browns would be thinking of making a switch Sunday at Cincinnati.

So you want someone to bet that the Pats won't win the SuperBowl THIS year, starting a rookie instead of the greatest QB in the game?

Wow, way to go out on a limb, JC.

They are proactive on the field because they cheated.

Seeing them just get stomped by the Dolphins was just hilarious. They literally ran the same play over and over again, and Bill had no clue what to do. I think as they get further and further away from their library being relevant, the more it will hurt them.

I also have every condifence that Bill is busy trying to figure out a new way to cheat.
