And so it begins.....
quote:

Randy Moss said all the right things after catching just four passes for 25 yards in the Patriots' 38-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins yesterday, but his body language seemed to tell a different story. Moss sat in solitude on the bench for most of the first half as the offense struggled. The wide receiver has yet to establish the same passing rapport with quarterback Matt Cassel he had with Tom Brady, and it hasn't helped that teams consistently have rolled a safety in Moss's direction, challenging Cassel to get him the ball. Cassel claimed he didn't notice that Moss wasn't sitting with the offense in the first half. Moss did sit with the offense in the second half, but he did not even extend his arms for a clearly overthrown Cassel pass in the third quarter. He showed some frustration early in the fourth quarter, when he threw his arms in the air, looking for a flag after an incompletion on second and 3 from the 44, and on a Cassel interception that was negated by a roughing the passer penalty, Moss did not turn for the underthrown ball.

Moss has a right to be angry.  Cassel stinks and has no business starting.

I agree, but Randy has always been a bit of a front runner in that if things are going well, he seems to shut it down.  Now, to some extent he's no the only WR and player (see Chad Johnson this year), but when Randy does it it's so obvious, because he's such a tremendous talent, and you expect nothing but great things.

If that's the pass I saw and am thinking of, it was more catchable than the article makes it out to be.

I think people just go out of their way to single Moss out for stuff many players do.

I saw Owens quit in a game in the dome when he was with SF and we were smoking them.

Instead of wasting time criticizing Moss the media needs to be blasting Belicheat for leaving his team without a viable backup while veteran QBs are sitting out there.

Not sure if this has been posted, but Matt Millen has finally been canned in Detroit.

This sucks for the Vikings.  As long as Millen was in Detroit, the team was a joke.  Now they might actually get a guy who knows what he is doing to run the team.

Not here. Millen was one of the best things for the Vikes the last few years. Imagine if we actually had to play those games.

So Plax Burress spends one year finally living up to his potential, and then goes hollywood on his club. Kind of a punk move... the Giants aren't going to be repeating.

Exactly.  This is a sad day for all Vikings, Bears and Packer fans!

Seriously though, what the heck took them so long.  The fans have been clamoring for it for like 5 years.

It's about time.

Actually the Kitties jokeiness way predates Millen. True, with Millen they have reached new heights. At least in terms of consistency.

Al Harris has a serious spleen injury, but the doctor that gave the 2nd opinion won't rule himout for the season.-ESPN bottomline.

Millen sucked, but was a victim of some bad luck. When he took Rogers, popular pick. Harrington was considered the 2nd best qb in 2003 and a future franchise guy. Kevin Jones, drew rave reviews on draft day, after Dallas had traded down and the Rams took SJackson, leaving Jones for the Lions to trade up and get. Roy Williams was a good pick as the traded down one spot and got a 2nd rounder from Cleveland for their effort. Mike Williams was a bad pick, but considered by everyone to be a steal at 10. Sims was a good pick.

Just shows you what happens when you don't fix the lines.

Farve rolled his ankle in the 3rd quarter on Monday, but he didn't go to NY to not play, to watch he went to play so he will play. Might be limited in practice this week though.

I hope he doesn't play.   He's dangerously close to Jim Marshall's record of consecutive starts, and I'd just as soon he doesn't make it.

Not for the next 2 games. You know I was just referring to him being suspended, not his talent, right?

And a story to put everything back into perspective:

quote:

TAMPA, Fla. -- The infant son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Matt Bryant died Wednesday morning, coach Jon Gruden said.
Matthew Tryson Bryant apparently died in his sleep, Gruden said. The coach said he did not know any further details. The child was born June 16.
"We're shocked and very saddened by this," Gruden said.
Gruden said he was unsure if Bryant will play in Sunday's game against Green Bay, and that the situation would be addressed later in the week.
"The entire Buccaneer family is deeply saddened by this tragedy. The Bryants have been an inspiration to our entire community through their commitment to their family and their exhaustive efforts working with children and those in need in the Bay area," Buccaneers general manager Bruce Allen said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Matt and Melissa during this difficult time.''

Can't even imagine the pain this family's experiencing.  It will cause me to hug my kids a little longer tonight!
