Understand that he lost his two best weapons from a season ago. The Bruins really don't have anything special at running back or wide receiver this season. It is Hundley or bust. Pretty easy for a defensive coordinator to defend, and Oregon is very good on defense this season.

I thought he must be more accurate than that. He is pushing a 70% comp this season. His wr's dropped a few too. IDK. Guess I'm not sold on his body language or something bothered me.

Has good size and a good arm. But very young. I will watch him again and maybe my opinion will change.

Any thoughts on him???

I agree with Ian, Winston is might be the best QB in college right now.

However, I think people are discounting Manziel too much. Why is that ? Is it because of the 2 losses ? The least amount of points they've scored all year is 41, and their 2 losses were both revenge matches by a good Auburn team and the #1 ranked Alabama. In both games, the Aggies defense was horrible.

I think an argument could be made that Manziel is better than Winston. Winston might have a quicker release, and seems to throw the ball in tighter places. To me, where Manziel is a amazing is the fact that he throws just about every type of throw imaginable, he would be VERY hard to defend against. He is quite an accurate thrower. He looks a tad like Ponder when he runs, but I think he is faster than Ponder. He also seems smart and realizes the time to run is against weaker opposition, and it's better to stay in the pocket, or beat the better teams with passes.

Manziel is like a combination of Brett Favre, Fran Tarkenton, Russell Wilson all rolled into one.

I like Manziel a lot. His size doesn't overly concern me, but his immaturity does. What's the consensus on Clowney? Is he really worth all of the hype? If we could land Clowney and still get Manziel at the top of the 2nd round, I'd be okay w/ that. Or go best QB at the top pick and BPA in the 2nd. I really like Boyd from Clemson, too. He has good arm strength, but has good touch as well.

A comment about Ponder taken from the gameday thread today:

ZERO pocket awareness or mobility, and just cant read a defense or throw if option one is covered. Sheesh!

Manziel is the opposite of this. He has incredible pocket awareness and mobility, and throws in places that are usually in the perfect place for a WR to make a play and catch the ball. In the last game, nearly every pass that went incomplete was off the WRs' fingers.

I hope the Vikes end up 2nd or 3rd in the draft so they have a shot at Manziel. I hope they don't fall back to 5th or 7th, where Bridgewater and Mariota are likely gone, and the Vikes are reluctant to take Manziel because they think he might be the next Ponder.

Derrick Carr displayed good timing the couple of times I saw him this year.
When the play breaks down he is questionable.
But on set patterns with his receivers he looks pretty strong and hits them in stride.

Overall ... looking at the prospects for 2014 ... it is not looking like a good draft.
Bad year to have a high pick.

I'm not a fan of Clowney.

Looks the part, but the production isn't there at all and I'm not liking his attitude.

All the meat is at the top of the draft.

When we pick at the top...

It's not a good year to have a top pick.

I think going in needing a QB we're going to be happy with our draft stock.

Seems pretty clear that you wan't to be 1 or 2 and land either Bridgewater or Mariota.

That or you are going left holding the empty hopes and dreams bag.

Imagine having the pick of the litter and seeing your team go with Manziel. I think I'd walk away.

Speed is interesting...I like that he can find open receivers and delivers them the ball, Will he be able and willing to deliver balls into tighter coverage? He wont see the wide open guys in most of the passes in this video in the NFL.

At this point, I'm not sure Jordan Lynch isn't the best player/quarterback in college football. Looks a little small for the NFL, but that kid can run like a mother.
