Urban Meyer is finding out it is tough to get votes playing in the Big 10 and he has won like 23 straight games. Unless the weak Big 10 teams can somehow pick it up, teams like OSU and Wisc will have to schedule much tougher nonconference teams if they are to get in the playoffs

brad, what do you think of that kid from San Jose St?

He was damn near unstopable in the first half against us.

FMaltes was suggesting the Texas A&M coach for HC of the Vikings, and I think this a very good idea. Even when Manziel is out, his well put together offense moves the ball. But you'd better find a good DC as his defense for A&M this year really sucks, it was slightly better last year.

What about the coach for Baylor for HC of the Vikings ? Anyone want to chime in on that one ?

The more clips I watch, I'm pretty much sold on Bridgewater and Manziel. I think they will both be NFL stars. I was a little bit cautious about Bridgewater after seeing him have an average night last week, but even Luck had some college games that were worse than that.

As good as RGIII is, I think it's quite possible he NEVER wins a SB, and whenever he gets close, teams will just knock him out. I think Luck, Wilson and Kap all have a good shot this year, and in future years. I could see all 3 of them winning a SB.

IF the Vikes get one of the 1st 3 picks in the draft, I think they should take Bridgewater, Manziel or Clowney, in that order. IF they have the 4th pick, then I'd probably be o.k. with them trading down. None of the 1st 3 picks should be traded down, it's not time to get cute, these 3 appear to be some pretty phenomenal players.

Top 5 quarterbacks the Vikings should be looking at.

1) Manziel, A&M
2) Mettenberger, LSU (this guy could actually be the best fit for the Vikings offense)
3) Mariota, Oregon
4) Carr, Fresno State
5) Wallace, Ole Miss

Were hoping we have a completely different coaching staff next season so it would be tough to determine who would be the best fit until we know who we have coaching and who is on our roster.

No Bridgewater? he is the consensus top pick

Yuck. That's my list of who not to draft. With the possible exception of Mariota.

I don't like any of the SEC QB's. Mettenberger is probably the best of the bunch, and the only one that should have a first round grade. At this point, IMO.

I think Fales from San Jose is worth a look. He is very accurate with his short to medium routes and he appears to see the field well. I don't know if he is worth a first or second round pick, but he reminds me of Foles when he came out of college.

Little Johnny is getting his ass handed to him by a trio of freshman CB's that played man coverage all game.

Don't like Fales at all. I would be shocked if he was drafted in the second. He's a fourth round selection, at best.

Clearly, Pacquiao isn't going down, unlike some of the fan-favorite high production QB's.

Some of the high production guys had epic fails today. Maybe that will help to make people realize that production is only one part of the total picture. It's easy to dismiss Manziel's flaws, when his production is high, but his shortcomings (pun intended) as a NFL prospect should not be overlooked. Aside from the obvious, and contrary to popular opinion in here, he does not have good pocket awareness. He has a very prolonged, slow delivery. His deep balls, more often than not, are jump balls. He has great foot speed, but not great foot work. He doesn't hold the ball high, nor with two hands. He is a NFL coach's nightmare. And, it shouldn't have to be said, but people seem to have short memories, Tim Tebow was a better college QB than Manziel. It's not all about production. Ask Klingler or Brennan.

Speedy (man) defenses exposed Petty, Mariota and Manziel today.

I hope Mariota stays. I think he and Hundley both have a very high ceiling, but they need to refine their craft at the college level. Hundley is not NFL ready, and I think Mariota is a bit of a project, but I love his potential upside. That's not what the Vikings need though.

Bridgewater is the only QB in this draft that I think can succed being a rookie NFL starter. Maybe Carr, too.

Best case scenario, we suck enough or move up and get Bridgewater. Then what? Maybe we sit him and make him learn from Ponder? We need to cut that mutt. We need to clean house. Hire at least one guy that understands how the game is played today.

Frazier's philosophy, which he is quick to recite, is to run the ball, and stop the run. He thinks the game is still the same as when he played. Seriously, he has no clue about today's game.

Bridgewater is the guy. If we could somehow land him, we need to not have ANY of the current QB's on next seasons roster. Sign a FA. Make a trade. We need to purge our roster and coaching staff before we can get better. Give Bridgewater a chance, if we are smart enough to go after him.

For perspective:

Tim Tebow's Sophomore year he passed for 3286 yards, 32 Touchdowns with 6 interceptions. He ran for 895 yards and 23 TD's.

Little Johnny is approximately 20 TD's behind that pace. And he gets to play another fast defense next week.

AGREED!

That is about as bad of a QB list as I have seen

Manziel will be broken up within 2 years in the NFL

Want no part of Carr

Don't know why Carr isn't getting any love. Season Stats: 350-of-502 (69.7%) for 3,948 yards, 39 TD's, 4 INT's. Those are crazy good numbers, and the kid has overcome a lot of adversity. A serious high-character kid. Granted, they haven't played a power schedule, but those numbers are pretty undeniable for some Heisman attention. The kid has good size at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. He is dead accurate.

At some point, you just need to tip your cap and say nice job kid!

Here is an very telling story of what this guy has gone through this season.

There should be zero hate out there for this Carr kid. As Brad pointed out he has NFL size and arm. Anybody know where he is projected to be picked?

Also his maturity makes him a pretty solid pick. Manziel is exciting but his mechanics and his smaller stature are starting to scare me off.

I can't believeManziel is being compared to Tebow. Is there any validity to this?

It's varying more than any of the other prospects I've been looking at.

Some say 1st some say 3rd.

Things can be murky until after the combine.

Not sure I get any Fresno St games but they should be in a bowl game so I'll need to get a look see at this guy.
