Looks like they are inching closer to a 4 team playoff. I haven't see a lot of the details yet, but it looks somewhat similar to the model I've proposed here the last 2 years.

Still like mine better though.

Also don't get why many think the SEC is the big winner in the proposed model. Often they have had two of the top 4 teams. If that conference is overated, then knock off both SEC teams in the semi's each year. I'd argue it's an opportunity for the other conferences.

Sooners and USC topping pre-season CFB polls
That'd be sweet, IMO.

This will be the last USC team that is a heavyweight contender for about three years. But, they could be the best team since the 2004 edition.

Penn State got thier penalties today. Appears to be more severe than what USC got a couple of years ago, but of course not a bad a SMU's death penalty. Wonder how many current players will transfer?

I pulled this from lamebook today. I scratched out the f-bomb so it's completely safe for work.

Strange story out of MadTown re: Montee Ball ... attacked (and put in the hospital) by 5 people
Apparently unprovoked.
Practice begins next week for them. Strange.

Things like that are rarely unprovoked IMHO. It may seem that way to him and authorities but I doubt it was just some random thing. Hope he's alright but unable to go against the Gophers

You read my mind.
Totally unprovoked? That'd be extremely odd.
And now, days after ... some truth is filtering out.
There WAS something going on that precipitated it. No shock.

Tyrann " Honey Badger" Mathieu booted from the LSU football team today. Possibly too many failed drug tests?? Sounds like he could transfer to an FCS (or lower) school and play this year.

SDSU might finally pull the trigger on one of my pet peeves: most teams should not be punting near as much as they do. I hope he goes for it.

quote:

Kevin Kelley, the head football coach of Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Ark. ... after months of statistical analysis, determined his team would have a higher chance of success if it always kicked the ball onside and never punted. In nine years, Pulaski Academy is 104-19 with three state titles.

Where will WR Keenan Allen go in the draft?

Chances he could fall in and around 10 so we might be able to target him in an affordable trade up?

I think he'd be a good match for Ponder.

My Boise State Broncos are in some serious trouble vs. Michigan State. We lost Kellen Moore, Doug Martin, and about all of our starting defense!

Boise is always better than most expect ...
Thats a tough MSU squad they just went nose-to-nose with.
Amazing what that Boise program has become. They expect to compete with anyone, anywhere.
Very commendable, imo.

Too much analysis and evaluation, IMO. A W in August, that's a good thing. Gophers won ugly. Much better than losing ugly. Double bonus as far as I'm concerned. We got a W, and we played like shit. I'm confident in our coaching.

Lovin all the great efforts from the small schools today
N Iowa and N Illini specifically.
Lots of great kids playing that level and you see it on days like today. Fun stuff.
