Speaking of records ....

Division III Eureka (Ill.) College quarterback Sam Durley set an NCAA single-game mark with 736 passing yards Saturday in his team's 62-55 come-from-behind win against Knox.

The senior, who finished 34 for 52 with five touchdowns, topped the previous mark of 731 yards, which was set by Division III Menlo College (Atherton, Calif.) quarterback Zamir Amin on Oct. 7, 2000.

Two of Durley's scores came in the final two minutes of the game and completed a run of 17 unanswered points by the Red Devils.

Durley also broke Eureka's all-time passing attempts and passing touchdown records in the win. He now has 6,095 career passing yards and 48 touchdowns.

Eureka racked up 821 yards of total offense, which broke the previous school record of 744.

34 for 52 for 736 and five TDs
I think I threw for those numbers ONE YEAR  Not kidding

It's nice to have your practice squad in the game before the half.

Alabams and USC would certainly be an interesting game.

Is LSU the next best?
How will the Oregon defense hold up?

It's going to be another great year of college football. Hope the Big 10 can get a team or two in that top 10.

well, yeah, Steve...but it won't be Mich, Wisconsin or MSU...

Gonna be Nebraska and the T-Magic 70+% passing...

lmao

not really a fan of Martinez, in fact, he makes me nervous every snap...

but that was a pretty special game against a not so terrible opponent in Southern Miss

tighten up the D and The Huskers can be a top ten team for sure

looking forward to Nebraska's first 4000 yd passer (shoot, first 3,000 yd passer)

and next Heisman winner !

Hey Chris.
It was an unbelievable performance by Martinez. I never saw that coming. It's on to UCLA and hoping the magic continues.

The Ducks looked good, I thought the uniforms were sweet.
First year for me as a season ticket holder so I am pumped.
One note on Oregon, they usually play two deep at most positions, and those guys were pulled halfway through the second quarter Saturday. The guys who played two and a half quarters were the third and fourth stringers. They played like third and fourth stringers.

I think Michigan was exposed a little, but I also think Alabama is just that damn good.  Michigan won't do much.  Michigan State and Wisconsin though?  Both these teams have much potential.  No, they can't compete with Alabama, but few team will this season.

Wisconsin will take a few weeks to gel under this practically new coaching staff (They all went to Pitt with Cryst) but no reason to think they can't compete.

good point, Ed on Wiscy having growing pains with the new coaches...

Still not as impressed with MSU as man of the media folks...but i actually think there could be 3 or 4 B1G's in the top ten...

Nebraska has a legit shot...first time in Martinez life that he is running the same offense two yrs in a row...being a 3rd yr starter and 2nd yr in offense (and being helathy) will help a LOT

but the offense is not my worry for them...just hope that defense gels and figures out how to stop a mobile QB...

Michigan is probably a top 10-15 team, not sure where tOSU fits, but Braxton miller is gonna thrive under Meyer...some are talking about Purdue as a sleeper...not sure if i buy that, but there are some solid teams in the B1G, maybe not as dazzling at the top as $EC, but there is some legit depth...can't wait to see it play out.

I have a question for all of you college football experts. For the second year in a row Wisconsin has brought in a transfer student to start at QB, which means that the kids they recruited for the spot have had to sit and watch.

Does this give QB recruits a reason to look past Wisconsin for the next couple of years because they can't be sure they'll get any playing time? If O'Brien turns out to be as much of a success as Wilson, who is to say that they won't bring in another transfer student again and again - thus leaving their recruits with nothing to do? Just wondering.

Wilson was a definite success story.
You have to believe it'll create that feeling there Lynn
I'm hoping it causes angst and tears the entire team apart at its core, but thats just one man's wish.

O'Brien didn't look like anything special today, but it's too early to make that call.

Their LB's are good.
The DL gets pushed around.
Still they held Fresno State to something like 2 for 18 on 3rd downs.
