Bridgewater looked really good tonight. Will get another look at Blake Bortles very soon. I haven't been as impressed with him as everyone else so far.....

I might have to stay away from Clowney

Really seems out of control

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10198336/jadeveon-clowney-south-carolina-gamecocks-ticketed-speeding-again

The trick here is whether Clowney can be taught to behave himself.  Jared Allen was on the verge of a seaon long suspension when the Vikings nabbed him up in trade.  Finally got it through his thick skull that he needed to shape up.  and he did.  The rest is history.

Can Clowney do that?  Do we have anyone that will be on the roster that can mentor him into behaving better?

You're taught to behave yourself long before you're 20 something. And a mentor ain't going to do shit unless you want it to happen. It'll come from with in or not on Clowney

Normal human beings are taught to behave themselves long before they turn 20.  but for many a freakish athlete, they get away with more shit that the average person as they grow up so it takes a mentor in the NFL to straighten them out.  Some players learn and grow.  Others don't.

Pacman Jones was a trainwreck for several years.  Now he's a solid contributor on the Bengals.  You don't hear about him for off the field shit anymore, even though he got into some serious shit before.

One can learn to behave themselves AFTER 20.

I was wondering if that was PacMan. The only thing with a rowdy guy like a PacMan is you don't want to be the first team to draft him cuz you don't reap the good play until after the suspensions and arrests that the Bengals are currently enjoying.

Suh was kind of a hot head but has not been too overbearing off the field. Not sure I could pass on Clowney if he is there at 8 and four qb's already off the board

If there is a legit franchise talent (not a Ponder), I'd still take my chances with a QB

The vaunted Fairley/Suh combo have gotten Detroit absolutely nothing.

Especially in today day and age where it's really hard to control the game defensively.

The only way you take a defender high IMO, is if he's a LT type, and Clowney is not even close to Taylor. He may be in talent, but his play on the field suggests otherwise.

Unfortunately looks like Bridgewater secured himself as number 1 pick last night.

Would you trade Adrian Peterson to St. Louis to jump into the number 1 pick?

Zach Stacey is a good RB, but Peterson is the best.

And if St Loius is picking #2, as looks to be the case?

Just playing out scenarios. I understand they can still get the 1 pick

That would give them Peterson to go with Bradford and all those WR weapons.

Do you go after Bridgewater or perhaps wait to who falls out from Manziel/Carr/etc at 8?

I might listen to trade AD for the #1 pick talks.

It might cost more than that though.

For me now, it's Manziel or bust.

He's like squash to me. At first I dismissed it with full prejudice.

But now squash and jalapeno soup is one of my favorite things.

I tend to like Manziel as well

I know he's undersized but I think he has the "it" factor.

His ability to scramble and improvise will cause nightmares for NFL defenses

Today's rules are perfect for him

According to kfan...

Things may have 'soured' so much that it is possible freeman skips the game today...

Who cares! He won't be back next year. All he can do is get bad press from the Vikes to go with his other bad press!

It was never going to work from the start. He's a mess right now and couldn't beat out Ponder or Cassel. That speaks volumes.

Yeah for sure....

I guess that could also be put in the WHO CARES category too. Good riddance, and a bad move by our management not having a clue about Freeman before acquiring him.

As it stands Houston, and the Rams will be drafting #1 & #2......

According to Ian, Houston is happy with Case Keenum, and the Rams may still like Bradford better then Bridgewater perhaps?

I say both would be open to trade to a team at #8 moving to the top....

I'm on the books for the Vikes moving to #1 and selecting Teddy Bridgewater..... Gotta be aggressive, how'd being aggressive work in moving up to get CP84?

Get'r done!

What would it take to move up.....

more than i would give for Bridgewater....probably will bite me in the butt later, but it would take an even bigger package of picks to move up than for RG3

dont like it, no sir, dont like it at all

It is going to cost a ton to move up.

This years entire draft plus next years #1.

Maybe some of this draft and the next 2 #1's.

We have to make up 1600 points.

And that's if you are making it straight up with a team being nice. And no competition.

Well the Vikes say the same every year, until ofcourse we stand pat at #12, and select our future QB who just about everyone in here threw up in their mouth when his name was called...

You gotta really like a guy to move up that far that is for sure.... But we need someone dynamic, not just a freakin game manager, something I never wanna hear again about our QB.

Do you stand pat and hope Manziel, or Bortles falls that far?
