Pretty good audition Hamels has going this afternoon.

I'd say you can't really top that as far as auditions go.

Always been a Hamels fan. I only caught a bit of the highlights but they kept saying "first no hitter" for him. Well, that's technically true, but I witnessed him go 6 no-hit innings against the Braves last year, in person, and then his relievers finished it off. So he at least was a huge part of another one. I just found it funny that at least in the highlights I saw, they didn't even mention that.

First pitcher ever to have a solo no-hitter and to also be part of a combined no-hitter.

Not a deal my friend.
Was basically to lazy to change it after I wrote it, and went ... "well, maybe a perfect game" ....

Cueto makes the Royals something much better than they were.
Giants are 9-1 in their last ten
Yanks are 8-2 in their last ten
Angels are 14-5 since dropping their GM
This is going to be a fun couple of months.
Hamels could swing things, if he goes to NY or LA

Agree. Cueto deal was pretty huge for KC. Luckily (for us) they only have him this year. And they did give up a decent return to the Reds.

ARod's neck is a clear indication that he's on something...

Man, what a year he and Pujols are having. Each of them. Two of the very greatest players to ever play the game. Fun to see.

Methinks the Tigers have finally reached the end of the line. I'm really hoping that they somehow DON'T trade Price; they could get a bounty for him to help their rebuilding process. They will be the Phillies of the AL the next few years IMO.

Bosox ship Victorino to the Angels.
The white flag isn't completely up, but it's climbing the pole.

Tulowitzki to the Jays. I don't know the details, but I don't understand that one.

Jose Reyes in the deal. I guess that's how they make it work. He's due a LOT of money too. So the Jays don't take on TOO much extra. Still, a little crazy.

From Tulow's end; you go from Denver, one of America's great cities, to Toronto (that's in Canada, or so I'm told). That is a....less than ideal tradeoff.

For this year only, that deal has to scare you a bit, Pete.

I just assumed the Jays would make a run at a SP. Who knows, maybe they still will.

At least Tulowitzki has a chance to normalize his home/away splits now.

Carlos Gomez showed off his amazing baseball IQ again last night - got thrown out trying to steal 2nd down 4-2 in the 9th inning.

The other CarGo (Gonzalez) now hitting the trade block as well. He's going to really help some team down the stretch.

And the Giants are after Hamels hard. They have a ton of money coming off the books next year (almost $60M) between Lincecum/Hudson/Vogelsong/Affeldt/McGehee, etc.

Mark's head is going to explode with FA this year. Look around baseball. You have all of the biggest markets looking at really spending this year to contend, save maybe the Yankees (they're about 1 year away with their plan to reduce):

Cubs
Giants
Dodgers
Red Sox
Mets

It's a pretty good FA class, mainly in SP, but there are going to be some massive contracts thrown around.

Toronto is a very nice city. You should visit there sometime.

I think this was bait for me. I prefer Toronto to Denver. By a mile.
