Man, the Angels SUCK
I mean, they even have legit stars, and they still SUCK

I noticed the Angels RF (forget his name), has exactly the same body makeup of Mike Trout. Must be using the same brand of PED's.

Trout has a watermelon sized head. I can't even look at him.

Isn't CJ Cron's melon even bigger?

Kole Calhoun is the Angels RF. He is the guy who has a Trout like head and body. There are probably others. And you are right about CJ Cron's head. It is massive. It barely fits on a baseball card type photograph.

My melon is too big too, so I know how they feel.

Royals cutting Infante loose. Wonder if he'll still finish top 3in all-star 2nd base voting

The Royals have designated second baseman Omar Infante for assignment, Jeffrey Flanagan of FOX Sports tweets. His roster spot will go to lefty Brian Flynn.

Infante, 34, has been a major disappointment since signing as a free agent before the 2014 season. Kansas City still owes him the rest of a $7.75MM salary this year and another $10MM down the line, including a buyout of a 2018 option.

Technically, he could sill be claimed or traded, but both seem unlikely. Even a surprise swap would be quite unlikely to save K.C. much cash.

Teams all over MLB ... bad signings, get no results, cut em loose and move on.
Its the way of the world.

Unless you're the Twins.
Tell your fan base there's nothing we can do... gotta ride it out.

And if they did cut them loose? Wow, what a roster upheaval.

3 new starting pitchers. They don't have that many guys ready!!??!!

New bullpen guys.

What happens to the alleged great farm system when it's exposed?!?
Exactly what the Sporting News posted. Wonder about player development.

The problem we’re trying to solve is that there are rich teams and there are poor teams, then there’s fifty feet of crap, and then there’s us. It’s an unfair game. And now we’re being gutted, organ donors for the rich. Boston has taken our kidneys, Yankees takin’ our heart and you guys are sittin’ around talkin’ the same old good body nonsense, like we’re selling deeds. Like we’re looking for Fabio. We got to think differently.

JUNE 16: The White Sox announced today that they’ve requested waivers for the purpose of granting Latos his unconditional release. Assuming no team claims the remainder of his salary, he’ll officially be a free agent once he clears in 48 hours.

Phillies right-hander Alec Asher, who has spent most of the season with the club’s Triple-A affiliate, has been suspended 80 games for after testing positive for a testosterone-related performance enhancing drug, reports Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times (via Twitter). The specific substance in question, Shaikin adds (Twitter link), is Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone — the same substance for which Blue Jays first baseman Chris Colabello and Phillies reliever Daniel Stumpf each tested positive earlier this season.

The Cubs will promote top catching prospect Willson Contreras before tomorrow’s game, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). The team’s plan is to carry three catchers for the time being, he adds, though the team was already doing so with Miguel Montero, David Ross and Tim Federowicz on board.

[Related: Since the news of Contreras’ promotion, it has been reported that Federowicz will be designated for assignment

Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez left tonight’s action with what has been diagnosed as a non-displaced fracture of the radial neck of his right elbow, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free-Press reports (Twitter links). Martinez will undergo a CT scan tomorrow to further assess the injury, but he’s already headed for the 15-day DL, per MLB.com’s Jason Beck (Twitter link).

Preliminary expectations are that Martinez will miss four to six weeks, though it would appear that we’ll need to await a full assessment before the timeline is fully clear.

Giants win their sixth straight.
Sucks that one has to find other MLB teams to admire, than a our own, but there are some good choices this year.
Giants remain as one of the most underrated franchises of all time, imo.
Should be in the Yankee/RedSox/Cardinal importance level, but often aren't mentioned.
The Spurs of MLB.

OAKLAND -- Right-hander Tim Lincecum was victorious in his highly anticipated return to the mound on Saturday afternoon, tossing six strong innings to help the Angels topple the A's, 7-1, at the Coliseum.
Making his Angels debut a stone's throw away from San Francisco, where he spent the first nine seasons of his big league career and claimed two National League Cy Young Awards, Lincecum held Oakland to one run on four hits, striking out two and walking two in his first big league start since June 27, 2015.

I see Shields set some sort of modern-day record last night with another putrid outing.
I'm kinda surprised he wasn't our dip into the FA pool last year.
Would have been so fitting.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Boston Red Sox placed outfielder Rusney Castillo on outright waivers Saturday. That would mean teams have until Monday to place a claim on Castillo. If they don't, he'll be removed from Boston's 40-man roster and outrighted to the minor leagues.

Given Castillo's hefty contract, it's very unlikely that another team will place a claim on Castillo. He signed a seven-year, $72.5M contract in 2014 after defecting from Cuba. Castillo is due a $10.5M salary this year, and could make up to an additional $46M more through the 2020 season if his player option is exercised following the 2018 season.
