For Drew Hutchison

The Blue Jays have struck a late-breaking deal to acquire lefty Francisco Liriano from the Pirates, as Robert Murray of Fan Rag tweets. There are two prospects heading with Liriano to Toronto in the deal Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca tweets.

Apparently Russel Martin and Liriano were like Peas and Carrots when Martin was with Pirates......

Very good move for Toronto
Fun place for Latin players, they are allowed to compete and get after it

INCREDIBLY entertaining deadline this year
Loved it

Betances moved into the closer role nicely in NY tonight. Wow, what pen they assembled.

They had three of them. Now just him. I think he responds well to that role.

Unfamiliar position for most, stay somewhat relevant while retooling for tomorrow.

Have to fix that starting rotation.

Still haven't recovered from the Stottlemyre loss.

The Red Sox will call up top outfield prospect Andrew Benintendi on Tuesday, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has confirmed to ESPN. Benintendi, the Sox's first-round pick in 2015, is 54-for-154 (.340) with a .408 on-base percentage and 26 extra-base hits, including eight homers, in his last 43 games for Double-A Portland.

Approximately seven years ahead of when they Twins would promote ....

Kinda' wished he threw a 50 footer, because I love your first pitch rants. Love 'em cuz I agree. If for some reason you can't throw a ball, know that and don't do it. My goodness.

Some people just can't turn down the bright light opportunity. Silly bastards. Yes, Carl Lewis, I'm talking to you. Seriously, what did HE expect?

Reminds me of that one time I saw a clip of Adrian Peterson throwing a football. Weird. I spend my entire life with it in my hands, but I have no clue how to throw one.

The only thing worse is the guy that turns his back when you throw a ball to him.

Weird

And JT hit on one of my faves ... AD cant throw a ball. I've seen it.
Did you see him try to hit a softball in that All Star thing a couple years ago? It was mesmerizing ... no talent, other than lugging a football

I'm speechless when I see these things. It makes zero sense in my world.

The word, "athlete" has been watered down, IMO. Hell, I'm not even sure what it means today.

PHOENIX -- Wilson Ramos delivered yet another big game to keep the Washington Nationals rolling Tuesday night.

Ramos lifted his average to .331 with two hits, including a key three-run homer, to help the Nationals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-4.

Ramos connected for his 16th home run with two outs off Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray (5-11). Chris Heisey followed with a solo shot, marking the 13th time the Nationals have hit back-to-back home runs this year.

"I've been trying to concentrate on hitting the ball up the middle when I have runners in scoring position," Ramos said. "I was looking for the pitch (Ray) struck me out with earlier, a slider. He threw it and I was looking for it, and I took advantage of it."

Ramos matched his career high set in 2013. Jayson Werth added a solo homer in the seventh off reliever Randall Delgado, one of his three hits.

Ramos has played in 91 games this season and looks like he'll get to 100 for just the third time in his seven-year career.

"Look, it makes me feel good that I've been able to stay healthy," Ramos said in Spanish. "That's been the biggest difference than in previous years. I don't think about the numbers, I just try to help the team."

You don't believe JA that this was a great trade for the Twins?
