So the Red-headed Clint Frazier was the key guy in one of they NYY trades, and he's in AAA.

Who did the Twins draft?

Stewart in the first round; Frazier was a possibility they passed on.

Again, what do they do with these guys? Stewart was mid 90s in HS. He had 44k's in FTM in 51 innings

but in AA

36 in 72IP

Fortunately, after College guys Eades and Turner, they appear to have a solid one in Gonsalves

55K's in 44 AA innings and batting average against, of .195. And he's a lefty.

Mitch Garver was the 3rd catcher they'd picked by round 9 and his bat is the best, with 11 HRs in AA. Turner continues to hit in the .220s and Navaretto is in FTM and can't hit over .215, his career avg in the minors is .213

In that same draft, Zach Granite, who has surprised, and has nearly 40 steals in AA, while leading off and hitting near .300, was taken in the 14th round, and
Ryan Walker who has a shot as a futility guy, was taken 4 rounds later.

by my best guess, the Twins only have 13 guys left from a draft 3 years ago.

That's some bad scouting/drafting.

Twins have 11 from 2012 draft, 4 years ago,

FIVE from 5 years ago.

And from 1 year ago

1 never signed (Kyle Cody, supplemental, who was taken in the SIXTH round this year).

3 are already gone from the org, from the top 10.

My boy Brandon Crawford with seven hits tonight in the Giants extra-inning win.
Another one of those guys who isn't your protypical MLB SS ... but he gets it done and he wins.

With a go-ahead single in the 14th, Brandon Crawford smacks his 7th hit of the night. The first 7-hit game since 1975 (Rennie Stennett, PIT).
He's only the 5th player since 1913 with a 7-hit game.

Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder’s career “appears over” after undergoing neck surgery last month, Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reports.

The Rangers are expected to hold a press conference on Wednesday, Rosenthal adds.

Fielder had surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck last month. The operation was his second neck surgery since 2014.

The Rangers owe Fielder $96 million over the next four years, and Rosenthal reports it is unclear if the contract is insured.

Fielder, 32, played the last three seasons with the Rangers after being acquired from the Tigers in a trade for Ian Kinsler. He was the seventh pick of the 2002 draft and made his MLB debut in 2005 for the Brewers.

Fielder was a durable player early in his career. From 2006 to 2013 he played at least 157 games each year. He had his first neck surgery in June 2014, playing just 42 games that season.

Fielder was one of the best power hitters of his generation, hitting 50 home runs with the Brewers in 2007. He had six 30-homer seasons and hit 319 home runs in his career, coincidentally the same number as his father Cecil had.

Rosenthal says docs won't clear him to play.

Heard it on the radio driving home from school. They'd announced the retirement and then the comparison between Prince and Big Daddy ensued.

Kinda creepy when you consider the fact they are estranged. It's like Cecil put a spell on him

I'm looking at the "racist" David Ortiz bobblehead, and sorry, someone's going to have to tell me what's racist about that. I'm just a dumb farm boy.

The Yankees have announced the release of first baseman Ike Davis, who inked a major league deal with the organization June 12 after opting out of his minor league contract with the Rangers.

The Blue Jays have placed right fielder Jose Bautista on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee sprain and recalled outfielder Junior Lake from Triple-A Buffalo to take his roster spot, according to Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star (Twitter link). Bautista is the second full-time Jays outfielder to hit the DL this week, joining Kevin Pillar (thumb).

The Padres have requested release waivers on infielder Hector Olivera, per a club announcement. He had been formally designated for assignment back on Aug. 2, and his release will become official in 48 hours once he clears said waivers.

Seriously........a black man with white lips and you don't see how it can be interpreted as racist? Let see, who has their face painted black with white lips........black face by people like Al Jolsen and Eddie Cantor.

Papi heading for X-rays
Hopefully he gets back to continue his overhyped Finale tour.
Maybe fans in every city should all rise and boo his cheating ass like those wonderful Bosox fans did for ARod tonight.
I'm not an ARod lover and I understand the angst.
But there comes a day you may want to act like a grown-up. Just once.

I honestly thought he had blown a bubble and the bubble had popped and covered his lips. I was watching the news and they only had it up for a little bit. What on earth would they put on white lips?

Am getting a kick out of the media having a tizz because ARod is "benched again"

Joe wants to win, says there is nada about this being a farewell tour.

ARod apparently expected more. Good one

Per ESPN Insider
Each teams most overrated player

Minnesota Twins -- Byron Buxton, CF. I hope he figures it out. He's still just 22, but he has shown no signs of being able to hit major league pitching, and he has been sent back down to Triple-A after hitting .193 with 80 strikeouts in 197 at bats.
