Haven't see the schedule but yeah, probably have 3 series w/KC in that stretch.

Still don't like the unbalanced schedule, but MN needs to make hay vs the "rest of the division."

Funny watching Marlins/Cubs game in Miami.

They have Jeter up in the booth for a talk and the Cubs' fans(probably over half the fans there are Cubs' fans) cheering loudly as the Cubs score.

Still can't stay healthy

Pirates: Pittsburgh began the season with RHPs Nick Burdi (elbow surgery) and A.J. Schugel (shoulder discomfort) on the disabled list.

TORONTO — Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzkiwill have surgery Monday to remove bone spurs from both heels and is expected to miss eight weeks, general manager Ross Atkins said Friday.
The bone spurs have bothered Tulowitzki during his recovery from surgery to repair the ligament damage suffered when he stepped on C.J. Cron's foot while trying to beat out an infield hit in a game last July against the Los Angeles Angels. The five-time All-Star has not played since.

Tulowitzki needs to retire. The man cannot stay on the field and that makes him virtually worthless at this stage.

WOW

The Royals have announced the signing of right-hander Kyle Lohse to a minors deal. Lohse hasn’t pitched at the big-league level since 2016.
Signing the 39-year-old Lohse even to a minors pact represents something of a desperation move for the pitching-thin Royals, who currently have Eric Skoglund penciled in as their fifth starter and watched Danny Duffy struggle mightily on opening day. While Lohse did make two starts for the Rangers in 2016, he struck out just three batters in 9 1/3 innings and allowed 13 earned runs en route to being designated for assignment in late July. Prior to that, Lohse’s last full season in the majors came with the Brewers in 2015, when he pitched 152 1/3 innings of 5.85 ERA baseball.

The Angels have brought back outfielder Ben Revere on a minors pact, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation tweets. Revere played 109 games for the club last season, but spent spring training with the Reds.

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed outfielder Yasmany Tomas on outright waivers after he was optioned to Tripie-A Reno last week, reports the Arizona Republic.
Tomas still has three years and more than $40 million on a contract he signed in 2014. It is part of a six-year, $68.5 million deal the team gave to Tomas.
Tomas, who is owed $13.5 million, could possibly clear waivers and return to the Diamondbacks.
The 27-year-old slugger played in only 47 games last season, finishing with eight homers and 32 RBI.
Arizona hasn't missed his bat so far this season, scoring 17 runs in its past two games against the Colorado Rockies.

OAKLAND -- Japanese phenom Shohei Ohtani was victorious in his first Major League start, orchestrating an impressive six-inning showing that featured six strikeouts in a 7-4 win over the A's on Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum.
The Angels supported him with 13 hits, including three each from Andrelton Simmons and Jefry Marte, to cap the four-game series with their third consecutive victory.

Ohtani was struck for three hits in the second inning, including a three-run homer off the bat of Matt Chapman, but the A's would be denied any more thereafter. The right-hander, whose fastball topped out at 99.6 mph, went on to retire 14 of his final 15 batters, while the Angels went to work at the plate to shake off an early one-run deficit.
Mike Trout, who enjoyed a second straight multi-hit game, delivered a game-tying double in the fifth, and Justin Upton's ensuing sacrifice fly put the Angels ahead for good, making a winner out of Ohtani. The two-way rookie became the first Major League player to start as a non-pitcher on Opening Day (designated hitter) and then start as a pitcher within his team's first 10 games since Babe Ruth with the Red Sox in 1919.

After calls to send Ohtani to the minors for a couple starts by the LA media, Ohtani was amazing...

If there is a DH rule in the AL could he come into the game as a PH after he is finished pitching? I bet they could PH for the DH in any inning he is pitching but it could be interesting later in the year.

I could be wrong, but I believe that once he's removed from the game he is not eligible to return to the game in any capacity.
