Status: offline 		It's agony going over last season again. SCSU finished first in the regular season of the NCHC 16-4-4 and Second in the NCHC tourney. UMD was 13-11 in the NCHC in third place and finished fourth in the tourney losing 4-1 to UND. The NCHC is the premier hockey conference in the nation as demonstrated by how UMD was never in contention.
I don't know what it is about SCSU's NCAA tournament lack of success. Last two years in the NCHC being 2nd regular season and winning the Tourney in 16-17 and 1st -2nd in 17-18. NCAA tournament comes and we fold. It's the truth. SCSU did have a Frozen Four appearance once.

Status: offline 		OK new USA today poll. Be outraged Beaver fans. Not even in the also receiving votes section. SCSU after sweeping their opponent drops to 4th. UMD second, Minnesota 6th Mankato 8th.

Doesn't change my response. We secured the series win. Already won Game 1 in Bemidji. All we needed was a tie in GF to win the series. We did it. Booger fans went home sulking. Success.

Status: offline 		Son was fuming when he got home from the Saturday night game.
Typical. Couldn't just take the win Saturday night and be happy, had to start a scrap with 1.3 seconds left.
He said the final 30 seconds took 35 minutes. Teams went off the ice, had to come back on to play out the final 1.3 on a faceoff FROM OUTSIDE THE BLUE LINE.
Probably hoping another brawl would start. One day people in ND will realize there's not supposed to be fighting in college hockey. Whaaaaaaaaaaa? Since when?

Status: offline 		Alaska Skates to 3-3 Draw at Denver

Whoa! WCHA!!!

The bad news is Alaska choked this game away. Denver scored 2 goals in the last 1:52 of regulation to force OT and an eventual tie.

Status: offline 		Mankato has had a couple of nice series to start the year (swept BU, split with UND). Hopefully more teams can be competitive out of conference so we're not a one bid league.

Status: offline 		SCSU has been ridiculously successful in the regular season for a while now. I was thinking that after losing our coach to the rodents and settling for an assistant from a team we've been kicking ass on that our demise would be coming soon. We won our first four games but against scrubs like Alaska Fairbanks and northern Michigan. We haven't done anything yet to deserve our lofty ranking. It should be fun.

I live in Arizona. I remember first time SCSU played them Arizona scored first then SCSU got the next 15 goals.

It only takes 2-3 years, and the players will show up
Because they know they can play there. Right away.
And playing them as the favorite sucks. You've got nothing to gain, they have nothing to lose.

But once anyone starts playing at a higher level, and being allowed on peoples schedules and radar, they get better
People have no idea how many really good hockey players are looking for places to play, still ...

Status: offline 		I know that BC has not been playing well yet this year, but they are a perennially strong team. A 7-0 shutout for SCSU at BC is incredible. Chance of taking over the #1 ranking if they can follow this up with another big win tomorrow. Go Huskies.
Oops. UMD beat Notre Dame tonight so now we need a Notre dame win in the rematch.
