Thanks, Miles.

Belichick is the new Sergeant Schultz.

I KNOW...NOTHING!!

Actually, that is the most sincere and honest I think Belichick has ever been in a press conference.

their is a big difference between the inflation levels of footballs and going lower than the acceptable inflation level.

no big deal if Brady wants them at the lowest level possible but to purposefully go lower than that is wrong

it is obvious that Brady has his equipment mgrs lower the levels of footballs during games.

My point is the rule itself is stupid, Stacey. I don't see the difference in practice between that and a months-long process (Giants/Eli Manning) in tampering with the ball with high-speed buffers, etc. Both things accomplish the same thing; a change in grip and movement of a football. You either have to let everyone do anything they want with them (including inflation level; Rodgers would apparently HATE what the Patriots' did to theirs) or let the teams have zero control of the footballs. There can be no in between to me, and the rule is stupid.

Which is why it only calls for a $25K fine, methinks.

It's not the rule that is stupid. It's the fact that the league doesn't control the balls. and EXPECTS teams to do nothing to them.

It makes sense that the league have a rule as to what pressure each ball is inflated to.

The fact that they have no rules regarding tampering with the balls etc and lets teams control the balls instead of league officials...Well That is just stupid.

Let's ask this question. Did the referee actually check the balls that the Patriots gave them before the game?

That's what I've been wondering too. They say yes, but how do we know? It's his word vs. theirs.

Coming soon: Each sideline will now require a league official to monitor the weight of each football before it is put into play.

Its not that tough to fix...

Give both teams their allotted balls before the game with enough time to do whatever (within the rules) they want to them. Then they give them back, where they are checked to make sure they are still "compliant", and then controlled by the officials for the rest of the game.

Everybody wins. Except the cheaters.

And then refer to the new rule as the Patriot Cheater Rule.

(Said that just to rile up Dustin)

Another awesome example of what makes America great

An inmate at Fremont Correctional Facility in Cañon City, Colorado, has put his time to good use by filing a lawsuit seeking more than $88 billion against the NFL on the behalf of the Dallas Cowboys and their fans.

The Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs after a controversial overturned call found that Dez Bryant did not "complete the process" of a crucial fourth quarter catch.

Terry Hendrix, the inmate, claims that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, vice president of officiating Dean Blandino and referee Gene Steratore cost the Cowboys an opportunity to win a Super Bowl through "gross negligence" and would like $88,987,654,321.88 in financial damages, according to WFAA-8 Dallas.

The astronomical sum has some significance, as the first and last numbers are 88, a reference to Bryant's jersey number.

Introducing

The Patsy aka The Scapegoat

National Football League officials investigating the New England Patriots' use of under-inflated footballs during the AFC Championship Game are looking into possible wrongdoing by a locker room attendant who was in possession of game balls before kickoff, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports.

The attendant has allegedly been spotted on video transporting footballs from the official locker room to another location before the balls arrived on the field, according to Glazer. NFL officials have interviewed the individual but are still trying to determine whether the attendant was guilty of any wrongdoing.

The NFL needs to get a grip.

Overbearing __________

Even though Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch met his obligation and showed up at Media Day at the Super Bowl, he could still face a fine for wearing unsanctioned gear, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Darren Rovell report.

Lynch's agent Doug Hendrickson said Wednesday he had not heard from the NFL regarding a fine, ESPN's Darren Rovell reported.

Lynch spent fewer than five minutes at the podium on Tuesday, repeating "I'm just here so I won't be fined" almost 30 times.

But Lynch wore a hat with a Beast Mode logo on it, which is selling for $33 on the company's website and drew the attention of the league.

According to the report, the league does not like when players wear gear or promote a brand that it has not already approved.

In 2014, the Vikings defense allowed 113 fewer offensive points than in 2013, the biggest improvement in the NFL.

Wheeee!

The health system I work for is a major Packer sponsor so we can only wear packer gear or our regular work clothes on Packer Fridays - nothing from another NFL team. I have no sympathy for Lynch. You're making millions of dollars do wear what the league tells you when you're at work - the rest of us have to. Jeremy Staat was just on the radio promotong helping vets (and did a great job). At the end he talked about hating the business side of the NFL (no problem there). Then proceeded to use the one word about the NFL that made me forget everything he has just said - slavery .

If I worked at a place where people showed up on Fridays wearing canary yellow pants - I'd change careers quick.

Well then you could still work here as we still must wear dress pants on those days.

Quit your damn whining - no one is forced to wear Packer gear. At least half the staff doesn't (some are even Bear fans). And those purple and gold colors are way more flattering than green and gold.

Oh, we've had plenty of others :

- TO's last second catch in the playoffs when Jerry Rice clearly fumbled earlier in the drive.
- 4th and 26th against the Eagles
- Favre's pass to the only receiver not open in overtime against the Giants in the NFC championship game
- overtime loss to the Cardinals in the 2009 playoffs
- Super Bowl loss to Denver after being a double digit favorite
- Fail Mary
