I still think the NFL should have full time refs. The game involves too much money now.

BINGO!!!!

Billion Dollar industry and you can't have full time refs?

Come on.

Agreed. The NFL refs are a collection of; old farts who can't keep up with the play, guys who are young and fit enough to keep up, but get in the way and guys who are fit and stay out of the way, but don't comprehend what they just saw. Couple that with the crony system on replay review where officials cover for each other. The scenario we see in the commercial where the refs huddle with no clue and act like they are discussing the play until the fan yells out "Your mike is still on" is probably a common occurrence.

Bud Grant was harping on this point back in the late 60's and the league would fine him every time he opened his mouth about it.

Bud nailed it years ago
Should be full time
Should be age and weight and fitness requirements.
Completely stupid to have these games decided by insurance/car salesmen.

Oh, and btw .... For everyone who feels the Pats have gotten games given to them, that one last night was one that was taken away.

How could such awesome TV drama end any other way?

The dawn of the Brock era and having the unheralded scrub beat the mighty Patriots with over-the-hill Manning watching?

I'm trying to picture Bellicek being interviewed by Marty O'Neil at the Calhoun Beach Mannor.

Kluwe stole my thunder ... "The most Browns ending to a game, ever"
They rival us for losing games, badly.

If Schultz had not been from MN, Charlie Brown could have been named for the team.

Another sign of getting old

The Vikings added safety John Lowdermilk to their practice squad on Tuesday and released linebacker Terrance Plummer from the same unit.

Lowdermilk, a son of former Vikings center Kirk Lowdermilk, was a standout at Iowa and signed with San Diego in May after going undrafted. John Lowdermilk , 6-2 and 210 pounds, was released in the Chargers’ final cuts in September.
Kirk Lowdermilk played for the Vikings from 1985-92, and John was born in Edina before his father’s final season in Minnesota. Kirk Lowdermilk, a third round pick out of Ohio State in 1985, finished his career with the Colts (1993-96).

A nice piece on the Vikings by the NFL Network before the game between GB and Detroit.

I only mention it because my head and others would explode if they ran a piece on the Packers before a Vikings Game against Detroit.

And you know they would, Damnit they would even if the Pack was in last place.

Yep, and I'd have been more pumped if they had signed Joey Browners kid.
Even if he was 12 or had never played football.

he forgot to say one thing

"It's the Packers. They had to call it."

NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino defended a controversial facemask penalty following the Green Bay Packers' walk-off win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday.

After the game, Blandino tweeted that the facemask call should have been expected, though he did not state whether he believed the call was correct.

"Hand up to the mask, quick grab with finger and head gets turned. At full speed official is going to make that call almost every time."

But joke refs missed a massive facemask on #5 when everyone but the blind mice could see it.

Vikings laying another egg against a decent team.

When will MN professional sports ever become consistently good?

Super Bowl for the Vikings......I have followed them since 1968.

Never will they win a Super Bowl in my lifetime.

I am completely done with the NFL and the Vikings

They are a complete and utter joke as is the NFL with its rules, penalties, and its part time dunderhead refs..
