2 turnovers

lolly-gag the end of the first half when they could have done more than kick a FG.

No urgency

That's on the coaches and players. pathetic

I'm happy to see them take a shot at the win. Walsh isn't a sure thing anymore. Just once I'd love to see the pocket not collapse in a split second when it matters most. Wretched choking play by Kalil.

Do you think they were? Hard to say from seeing it on TV.

Not very good idea to hang onto the ball. Plenty of chances to win that one and they pissed it away. As noted, where was this effort , especially OFFENSIVELY, Sunday?

I prefer to call them the most cursed team in the NFL.

2 fumbles

Captain's half-hearted effort on the first TD pass

Sieve offensive line

Predictable run calls

And they still had a shot at winning it.

They invent ways to kill us as fans. Gut wrenching defeats, although I've pretty much become numb to it after all these years. They can't hurt me anymore!

I assumed they were going for the TD. Maybe they just wanted another ten yards. Regardless, what a horrible play by Kalil. But Teddy has to feel that.

Things you can count on watching the Vikes offense this year

Bridgewater will hold the ball
Bridgewater will be pounded thanks to line
Peterson will run enough times to drive you nuts, cutting back instead of running through the hole
Norv will run on first down
Vikes won't manage the clock very well

They're obsessed with getting AP his 100 yards, and the offense is continually put in 2nd and 3rd and longs. I don't care if he leads the league in rushing. He's not right for this team.

If he put an effort into pass blocking like he lowers his shoulder into d-backs, he'd actually help in the passing game.

Very proud of the overall effort
Very sad about the result
Very amused by the refereeing again.

Anyone see the cocky jackass ref telling Teddy "it wasn't a face mask"?
Gets more ridiculous every week.

All in all I am absolutely shocked that they were even in the game, but I'm still pissed off that they blew a golden opportunity. And I agree with the sentiment that Bridgewater seems to be a much better QB without Peterson. Watching AP I find myself going back and forth between my jaw dropping on some incredible jump cuts to saying "will you just hit the f***ing hole".

Peterson actually became a weapon catching the ball some.
Who knew that stuff would work?

Teddy: See, here is his glove still hanging from my face mask.

Ref: No it isn't.

what a way to piss a shot at tying it away

There was NO WAY they needed to do that. Kick the effing field goal. The weren't going to get a TD

Dumb
Ass

Hang on to the ball some more Teddy.

STUPID

The play calls for the line to block. Kalil didn't. Teddy was in his throwing motion when hit, so either someone was open in the endzone or he was going to throw it away.
If you have a shot to win, you take it. If not you kick the fg and play for ot.

I don't play for OT. It wasn't a stupid call. It was terrible execution on the part of one Kalil

Yeah, get the ball to a big powerful, fast, RB who can't be brought down by 1 DB, out in space. Why would anyone think that would succeed. A lot of us have been screaming for that for years. The kicked ass offense was even more run oriented than Norv's.

Agreed Scott. On the most important play of the game, the O-line folded like a cheap card table. In that situation, you take your shot at winning the game. Especially with a badly under manned defense. The problem is that if your going to take a shot at the end zone, the line has to give the QB more than 0.8 seconds to throw the damn pass.

So ..... The talk today is that the Cards are damn good and are one of the SB favorites.

I guess I'm feeling better about the Vikes then.

Didn't see the game but I did see Peterson had 23 carries........for 69 yards. 3 yards per carry. 3 yards and a cloud of dust....love that we have gone to Woody Hayes playbook.

If Peterson wants to be considered a great running back, pass catching and pass blocking are important.

Walter Payton had them down. He would kill defenses with his blocking.

I didn't say the F bomb in front of the kids, but sheesh. And he can do the circle rout out of the backfield.
Swear NFL coaches get tunnel vision on what will work and what won't.
Stupid ass reverse. Used to be a Burnsie/Schnelker specialty that never worked either. One of the first plays of the 2nd half.

And on the pass. Teddy says he was going to throw it away. They wanted a few more yards, it was taking too long for receivers
to go L to R

Then why call such a play?
And, why are you stepping up to throw it away? just heave it out of bounds.

Effort was there. Results suck. Still the big L

Still pissed off.

Good stuff Ed
What was with the deeper sets of AD?
My wife ... Driving expert but no football genius .... Even said "why is Peterson so damn far back in the backfield"?
Again ... You cannot take a sack. So whats he do.
Teddy knows his OL by now. You can't take a sack.
SO GET THE DAMN BALL UP AND READY TO RELEASE.
Been saying it since day and the one. Never has the ball ready to launch. That fraction of a second means everything.

I think Peterson is deep so he can juke jump and cut.

But he's always trying to hit the HR.
And it costs him too often.
The TD run was sweet. but some of those runs? take the hole and pickup 5 or 6 yards vs cut back for -1 or no gain.

I'll defend Teddy on this one. He had to step up because the pocket immediately collapsed from the sides. He had to get out to throw it away otherwise it's intentional grounding and they are trying a 58 yard FG.

And yes I'm still pissed off too. Only the Vikings could find a way to piss me off in a game where I had zero expectations of them and thought they would get blown out.
