More great news for my boy Johnny Football.
Merrill Hoge hates him.
That right there may just make him a mortal lock.

Bortles extremely impressive today.
Looks like he nailed his #1 pick audition for the Texans.

Go for it Houston.

Bortles there(I'm not big on him), and they'll have to trade up to beat Cleveland to Johnny Football.

Jared Allen reportedly to Seattle. Good for him to have a shot at a title.

Hope you guys don't break down and cry like Brody did today on the Common Man Progrum. That guy is crazy.

Allen was great, but somehow seemed to disappear in the few big games he played in, I think, and I could be wrong.
Time to get younger, I think Griffen will be great.

Adrian Peterson is 29 today.

Do you hear that ,Vikings?

That's the Window of Opportunity closing. Soon it will be all shut and done for Peterson.

I don't feel bad for AP. He had his shot with Favre, I swear he fumbled so many times in the NFC title game that they actually were using the backup RB in crunch time. Too painful to look up the box score but if AP wouldn't have fumbled so much the Vikings would have won going away.

No matter what happened you really don't need to look further than the 12 man penalty. Unforgivable and without it we run a safe play, hopefully pick up a few yards and kick a <50 yard FG and go to the SB.

I need that constant reminder, it's ok.

I read Cris Carter's book, about WRs, reminding me of past pain.

The window of opportunity is so small for guys. Get them next year? How'd that work out for _________ (player name here).

'98 haunts me more than the Favre year. I think of that far too often.

Always having to rely on upsetting people is fun and doesn't leave scars
But when your lifelong love of a team gets to the point where you KNOW they are the best team in the league, and then when they pee that down their leg, I agree .... That's when it hurts most.
I'd even say that about the '92 Twins. They had improved a WS winner. Best team in league that year.
'98 Vikings? Undoubtedly. Those lost chances hurt the most.
Darrin Nelson dropping the TD pass in Washington killed us too ... That was the redskin team that crushed Denver in the SB
Damn you guys .... Here we go again ....

Agree. I always figured Favre would throw a backbreaking interception at a crucial moment. '98 was just a knife to the heart.

Not that 2009 wasn't painful; after outplaying that team in their own dome all game...ugh.

Screw the stats. The fumble at the end of the half was 100% on Peterson, and it changed the whole complexion of the game. So don't come with the
"zero fumbles lost" defense. He lost one, an it was enormous.

He put the ball on the ground three times. I have little doubt it had a terribly
unsettling effect on the whole team. Everybody started squeezing the ball a little bit tighter, which typically has the reverse effect and leads to more
fumbles. It became contagious. I blame Peterson.

As far as the blame game goes for losing, Chilly is #1. The 12 men was inexcusable. Just epic horrible hands around your throat coaching. And Peterson, for the reasons I stated above, is a close #2 when I'm assessing
blame for that loss.

And Favre? It was the greatest performance I've ever seen by a QB. They should never have been in the position for that last int to happen. I couldn't have more respect for him as a football player.

AD's one fumble inside the 5 hurt (it was his fault, he didn't even open his arms to take the ball). Harvin had a fumble that hurt and Bernard Berrian had a fumble that hurt. The worst part is that none of them were even forced.

Crap. After years of therapy I am pissed off about that game again.

You had me ... Until Favre eschews the "i will fall forward for plenty of yards here, so we can kick the FG and go home" for the mind-numbing interception on the stupid throw-back across the middle.
Maybe you can't hold him responsible for that ... But I do. I'll agree, he took everything that day like a man up to that point.

Dammit!
A beautiful Friday ruined!

I wasn't too mad after that game. 1998 changed me forever. I will never get that emotionally invested again in sports team.

I just laugh at all the legions of Peterson fans who hold him so high on a pedestal he can do no wrong. He's always been an incomplete, one dimensional back. Amazing runner. The most amazing mix of power and speed in the history of the game. But he can't catch or block. And just in the last 2-3 years has solved a pesky fumbling problem he had most of his career.

And believe it or not, he actually does have holes in his running style. In his attempts to hit a HR every carry, he actually does sacrifice alot of sure 5 yard gains that end up being 2 yard gains (or less).

Dead honest here ... I hear you. I basically went numb after Anderson's miss.
And truly was on cruise control.
Until one play before the Favre interception.
I mean, how sad is that?
I remember shedding all the anger, all the non-caring feelings ... All at once.
One play before the interception. I was TOTALLY back on board, 100%.
And of course, was struck down (like I deserved) .... Seconds later.
Typical. Had to sell my soul, give in, make another ass of myself, only to have it all crushed again. What a Putz.
