I try not to miss Dinner
Everyone eats at noon

You're not on the farm anymore. Do you really still call lunch dinner? I'm not sure I believe that.

You're kidding right?
It's how I grew up
It's how I live
What's with this place and all these people who think others come here to get enlightened?

We just want things to be uniform.

For instance, pizza should always be cut in triangles. I don't care if it's thick, thin or in-between.

Yes, now they're called underground restaurants.

And I'm sure the word "supper" is not in their vocabulary.

I'd guess there is probably an actual "supper club" at really old casinos here - like the Flamingo. Where you can see Donnie and Marie perform while you eat a Steak Diane or Lobster Thermidor.

We drink pop here
Never had a soda in my life or a cola

Saying pop was the hardest thing to break when I moved away.

Now it sounds grating when I hear it.

I'm becoming enlightened.

Don't go to Texas. It's confusing and annoying. Everything is coke. "What kinda coke?"

I'm kinda guilty on that one
I always ask for a Coke
And I'm ok if I get a Dr Pepper or a Pepsi or a root beer

I'm never OK if I get a Dr Pepper.

It now makes sense why you hate me so ....
My favorite beverage

Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb is also my #1. Either works. Wild Cherry Pepsi at the Twins games is pretty good too.

Underground restaurants are actually referred to as "supper clubs".

This guy knows his pop.

One asksfor a Coke for everything?

Another is unhappy if it's a Dr Pepper?

These are indeed strange times.

Carry on.

Supper clubs are a dying breed around here. A few left but not nearly as many as there used to be.

Supper clubs ... Dr Pepper is syrupy piss water ... this the level of intellectual discourse that keeps me coming back. I would like to see how this conversation would fly in the Vikings forum.

Man, this is a very complex forum. Deep layer shit.
I had no idea TJSweens was so funny. Hold up, I actually mean it.
"Syrupy piss water" will become my new user name, if JC approves it, of course.

Or just lose "Supper"

What do you have against eateries known as Supper Clubs??

Are Supper Clubs still a thing?

It feels like something that would either be brought back by hipsters, or an alternate establishment to an American Legion....

Around Portland, the Suburbanites, who must hate their own families because they always herd and post about it on Facebook, have brought the Supper Club back.

Always seems contrived to me. I'll never do it.

Around here if you ask somebody for a Pop or say Supper, they'll ask if you're from Fargo.

And my wife will say,

No, Freeman South Dakota.

And then they were right.

Hey, what is everyone's take on the game Waynes played? He is getting a lot of flack in the Viking forum, but I didn't think he looked bad. He made one nice play in particular to kill any chance of a first down. Newman got abused a couple of times, but I didn't really have a problem with what Waynes did out there.

One blown coverage leading to a later TD

My son is all over putting Bryant in fantasy FB; says he'll put up big #'s vs Waynes.

So far Waynes is a pretty good tackler after the catch. But man, he gives up a lot of receptions.

He needs to be less "Josh Robinson"...

Goddamnit! Barr is already missing 2 days of practice with a tweaked hamstring. Can this guy stay healthy for more than 2 consecutive games? It seems like he is always playing with a nagging injury.
