At least we can always count on Teddy being there every Sunday .....

If Teddy comes back and gets hurt again, I'll be there with you.

But I won't project the "injury prone" label on a guy after 1 incident.

No Bradford pretty much ruined Stephon Diggs' day.

Pretty much ruined everyone's day...
And we're back to the main problem with Sam.
He has so many of the things you want in a QB. Amazing arm talent - velocity, accuracy, touch. He can make every throw you'd ever dream of, he's capable of reading defenses and making great decisions. He's even quite a bit more athletic than he looks.
But...
Availability is as important as anything else. And Sam has now played in 79 games and missed 35. That's just not even close to acceptable.
How do you move forward with that kind of uncertainty?

Get the best backups you can and sign him to 1 or 2 year contracts.....

I hate that plan.

Anyone good enough isn't coming as a back-up and if they did, its not at all cost effective/feasible.

You can work around a QB missing a game or two in the season, but what if its late in the year? Not to mention Sam has a history of season-ending injuries.

I don't think it is ideal either....Teddy, Case, and the new kid are probably right up there in terms of backups (minus Kap of course).

A guy who can't play for 5 more weeks, a "never was" and an undrafted rookie?

There is a ton of future potential there with Teddy and Sloter, but right now, our QB depth is just shy of atrocious.

How long are we gonna watch stupidity?
And I'm also looking at you Brian Robison
Looking stupid probably bothers me more than anything we do.
We have a couple brainiacs who simply can't help themselves, so as coaches, you have to help them see the light.
Frustrating stuff.

If Diggs, Thielen and Rudolf hadn't made a couple of great catches yesterday, that offense might have ranked right up there with a couple of our ugliest days ever.
Sam makes playing QB with THIS OLine look a helluva lot easier than it is.
A guy like Case Keenum thinks he can do it. Until the shit fan starts. Nope.

I saw Case miss a wide open Diggs, a wide open Rudolph, plus an offensive PI on Diggs that should have been a no call....just too many calls and plays that didn't go our way even with those three.

They aren't going to snap the ball morons .....
If they didn't realize that, they're too damn dumb to play
Sorry, you have to make tough decisions sometimes
Jet still thinks he's going 109 every return. You're not, dude. You're not really ever getting to the 20.

He's the worst.

He's now brought out 6 VERY deep returns:

15
26
33
11
18
17

1 slight positive. 4 really bad runs.

And its not like he's coming to close to breaking one. The guy has no vision, no shiftiness, and he damn near comes to a complete stop when he spins, cuts or jukes.

He's a tremendous "testing" athlete, but he's a lousy football player.

Just shook my head after that play. 4th and 1 FROM THEIR OWN 30! Robison was the only one in that stadium that didn't realize they were never going to snap that ball. Standard procedure, we'll call out signals until there is 1 second left on the play clock to see if some dumb-ass will jump off sides. Then we'll call time out and punt. They found their dumb-ass.

And Zim's one good eye should be enough to assess that Jet has no business being back there to return kick offs. Come on man, there are other options.

Sam Bradford expected to miss second straight game for Vikings
9:54 AM PT
ESPN.com

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford is not expected to play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Bradford's left knee did not respond well to practice work this week, the source said. The quarterback practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday but was not present for the portion of practice open to the media Friday morning.

Coach Mike Zimmer will address the media Friday afternoon.

ESPN's Courtney Cronin contributed to this report.

Speilman should go to Vegas if he is still in charge a year from now.

Some real dubious decisions on depth have continually contributed to problems with him in charge.

QB backup is just the latest.

Dude has missed 30% of his career through 7+ years.

If he's done for the year that will jump to 40%.

You absolutely can not have that kind of unreliability at the most important position on the field.

Your wrong.

They would have just taken the delay penalty and punted and saved the timeout for later.

Robison is a veteran. He should have been the one telling the other guys in the huddle not to jump

God I hope Teddy is ready to go when the time comes.

And now you guys are seeing exactly why the Vikings are hesitant to extend Bradford for a big money contract.

I feel about Keenum the same way I felt about him after game 1, which is the same way I felt about him when we signed him. That is to say he was an upgrade from Shawn Hill as a back up QB. He's a lot better than what we saw against Pittsburg, but I wouldn't get used to what we saw yesterday.

Diggs yesterday had me flashing back to Sammy White in his rookie year. Sammy was holding the ball up as he was jogging for the goal line only to get tripped up from behind and fumbled the ball through the end zone for a touch back. He stayed as far away from Grant as he could on the bench and caught two TD's after that. He crossed the goal line both times with the ball tightly tucked and gave it right to the ref. When asked if he planned to talk to him about it, all Bud said was, "I think Sammy learned his lesson".

Up 5 spots .....

11. Minnesota Vikings

2017 record: 2-1
Week 3 ranking: No. 16

Case Keenum: 75.8 Total QBR. Keenum posted a 94.6 Total QBR in Week 3, the best single-game QBR of the season. Sam Bradford posted a 92.0 QBR in Week 1, the third best of the season. The Vikings are rolling no matter the quarterback right now, and that will need to continue with three straight division games coming up.

Last week my son benched Diggs on his fantasy team because of Bradford being out. I am guessing he will play him this week.
