Biggest problems the Vikings have going forward:

Rhodes is terrible, I mean just freaken awful. He's spent the whole year caught in no man's land. Rhodes was never the world's fastest corner, but he had a great gift for jamming receivers and great technique that allowed him to stay with receivers. Now he has managed to position himself to where he is constantly getting beat both underneath and deep. He just has the look of somebody who is done.

Elfline is embarrassingly bad. Last night was the same thing over and over. Get overpowered off the snap and grab and hang on for dear life. He easily could have been flagged for blatant holds other than the 3 they called on him. The line as a whole is much better, but as the saying goes ... a chain is only as strong as its weakest link ... guess who that is?

Kline was back

Is that guy who subbed for him a fit at left guard?

I can probably say the same about he play-calling
I love what Stefanski has been doing.
I used to question every damn play call. Now, even when we fail, I gotta say, yeah, I woulda tried the same thing, it just didn't work

But also agree on the 4th down stuff
NOT the play to run at that time.
I'm thinking Zimmer might have called that

From the second we were at 4th and 1, I was saying go for it. I have no problem with that decision what so ever. In the back of my mind, though, I was thinking, they wouldn't be dumb enough to sneak Cousins right over the middle would they . Unfortunately, they were.

Thats what I meant
I'm one of those weirdos who'd go for it anywhere on the field.
Just the wrong time to "sneak" That will work, but its non-doable when they line up in the gaps.
As a QB growing up, we never called the sneak, we'd call a hand-off to the rb, but if you got up there and they were hat-on-hat, you'd tap the butt cheek of the center as to which way you were going to keep it and sneak.
In that case last night, you're better off pulling it back and handing it off. If your center is on board, theres now way you can't get a half yard every time, as long as he fires off the ball.

I honestly would use Hughes at right corner right now

KC is going to be interesting
They have multiple wideouts with speed

As the so-called "cover-guru" of the NFL, Zimmer has to be choking as he watches Rhodes flail helplessly.

As bad as Elf is, there are a couple young OL that excite me.
They've got some nasty in em.
You can't be good at that without being a fighter.

Yep, I think it was a good situation to go for it. Zim knew the greenhorn QB wasn't going to do anything if they didn't make it. Worst case was that they would give up a FG.

Move Kline to the left side and insert Samia at RG. Whatever Samia needs to learn technique and scheme wise, he at least loves to line up and beat the crap out of somebody.

Got off to a bad start, but he has made huge strides after those first forgettable games. He gets to that second and third level better than anyone else now..

I so see the Kubiak influences

Some of those runs remind me of the Terrell Davis era in Denver
4-5 yards downfield before any potential contact

That's the GREAT thing about our running game
NORTH and SOUTH they FALL further for more yards than some running backs ever gain

our guys now turn 2nd and 6 into 2nd and 3
Helluva difference

Those were the games where he was learning the most. He made lots of mistakes and now he doesn't make those as much any more. Great pick imho. He's a very quick learner and not prone to making the same mistake over and over again.

Not that he would give us great value in trade but to offload his contract get a low draft pick just as Holton Hill is coming off the suspension....

Perfect timing to trade him away....

The worst thing about "national TV games" is everyone seeing Rhodes performance up close.
Tough to move him after that performance.
As ESPNs recap went …. "something's definitely wrong with Rhodes"

He looked 10 pounds heavier to me. Outfit wasn't slimming.
