Barr to miss rest of season.
The hits keep coming.

Injuries and guys sitting out has ruined the season. Pearce, Hunter and now Barr. Can't really expect to win without those guys.

Exactly. As shitty as the D has been they would have had to hold to a safety or under to win that game.

The Vikings have alternated double-digit win campaigns with seasons at or around .500 for the entirety of Zimmer's tenure; it seems like they're heading toward that destiny again in 2020.

and yet they EXTENDED the coach.

I hope we're much less than .500.

Try that philosophy at work sometime
Be pretty good one year, then suck for a year
See if you get a nice big raise and a promise to keep you on.
Let me know how it goes.

After losing linebacker Anthony Barr to a season-ending pectoral injury, the Vikings are signing a veteran with plenty of starting experience.

Former Broncos linebacker Todd Davis is signing a one-year deal to join the Vikings this week, a league source confirmed. Davis, 28, has started 63 games for Denver, where he became a full-time starter in 2016 under then-head coach Gary Kubiak.

Davis was the Broncos’ leading tackler each of the past two years as an inside linebacker. But his run in Denver ended after five seasons while missing most of this year’s training camp with a calf injury. He’s dealt with injuries to each calf in the past two seasons.

The Vikings’ options were thin, and Davis provides a steady veteran and likely two-down presence if healthy and up to speed. Linebacker Eric Wilson is expected to fill Barr’s role in the Vikings’ two-linebacker nickel package alongside Eric Kendricks.

Fourth-round rookie linebacker Troy Dye was placed on injured reserve Thursday due to an ankle injury suffered in Indianapolis.

The Vikings also have linebacker Ryan Connelly, who joined the defense earlier this month as a waiver claim from the Giants, and linebacker Hardy Nickerson Jr., the former Bengal promoted from the practice squad this week.

This is starting to remind me of the Steckel year more and more

Just signing guys off the street right and left. And it's only week 3.

Why is the bottoming-out year always the Steckel Year? I'm just curious. It is for me too. But weren't we also 3-13 about ten years ago too?

Yes, but Les Steckel was the only coach to ever punch himself in the jaw.

Steckel year was IMO the worst year of Vikings football ever.

Always had a great game plan. EVERY game

And got kicked badly a lot.

Surprised you stayed with it after that. Scarred you for life.

The Frazier year was bad, no doubt. They even had the same scenario on offense, Horrible QB.

Cousins is only 3rd worst QBR in this NFL stat. Wentz and Haskins actually lower

Seeing Carlson kick for the Raiders

Makes me think of how difficult it must be playing for Zimmer

Who gets a lot better under his staff?

K?
OLine?
QB?
A few skills players
A few defensive players

But not a lot of guys. That's going to be a huge part of this year's flops. He has no time for youthful mistakes, yet has loaded up at corners with young guys. Linebackers that seem lost, outside of Kendricks.

Needs to go.

Appeared that Kearse,Waynes,Rhodes,Alexander couldn't wait to bolt.

Then there was the CB mutiny a couple years ago.

I know. I'm asking why the 2011 Vikings team that went 3-13 is never used as the punchline year. It's always the 1984 team.

Holton Hill is

not good

burnt toast second play of the game

At least the Titans only used up 3 minutes to score on the first possession.

250 staff and family at the game as a trial for having more show up.

Viking staff

So they probably won't boo like they deserve.

6-0 after a fumble by cook

again the offense can't stay on the field

Good coverage by the #1 pick on third down.

Clowney's blindside should have been accompanied by taunting by the guy who picked it.
