Wentz mechanics are gone. He doesn't step into his throws and just stands there basically flat footed.

Philly has a ton of money tied into him. They can keep him.

He did some things last night that were mind-boggling
When a play would work for them, when a receiver would finally get open, he'd look at them and look at them and look at them
It was like that 3 year old who just won't let the ball go
The MNF crew was exasperated trying to figure him out
This is Philly team no one could stop a few short seasons ago

Kinda fun watching them implode.

Oh yeah
extremely
That's why I'm still bringing it up

Also enjoying Nagy's struggles in Chi-town.

So…….do we bring Wentz "home" after the KC's experiment. Dudes got talent but is a head case. He ticks all the boxes.

Bismarck Vikings??

That's why I quoted it as "home". Dude is uber talented and, IMO, needs a change of scenery badly. I still think he can be turned around assuming he can stay healthy.

Pederson and Nagy could have written their checks for most teams last year
Right now, no one would get paid to take them
One of my favorite lines ever was "you know what NFL stands for? NOT FOR LONG"
We've all heard that one, but it gets truer every damn season.
Its like baseball, you come in and rip up the league, lets pump the brake a little
Lets see what happens next time through the league, sparky.

16. Minnesota Vikings (5-6, LW: 18)

Justin Jefferson posted a 7-70-2 line and is up to 52-918-6 on the season despite the Vikings inexplicably barely playing him the first two weeks. If we redrafted the 2020 rookie class, where would Jefferson go? Top 10? Top 5?

Zimmenhire mistakenly gave him a shot, and is hoping everyone forgets ......

Not an Andy Reid lover, but there's a story on him on ESPN.com that everyone who loves sports should read.
Imo, it says everything it needs to about what makes a great coach.

The aftermath of the WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON FOOTBALL!!!!!! tells you all you need to know about the differences in perspective of the NFL franchises.
Pittsburgh improved to 11-0 on the season.
Afterwards, all Pittsburgh talked about was not being good enough, and promising changes to how they play and will play from here out.
We all know damn well how the Vikings would have handled a win in a similar circumstance.
Like it was a great victory in a time of plague and pestilence.
Once again just really respect some teams and how they know what the ultimate goal of pro sports is.
No sugar-coating, no excuses, no complacency.

Starts at the top

Steelers JV according to the coach.

That was one ugly game.

The Steelers are just an amazing organization. They have just 7 losing seasons since 1972. They won 6 Super Bowls during that same span. All under just 3 head coaches.

Yes, but during the same period the Steelers have a 35 & 24 playoff record including 6 & 2 in the Superbowl.

Vikings since 1972: 19 & 26 playoffs. 0 & 3 Superbowls

Former Minnesota Viking defensive lineman Chris Hovan was caught in Florida driving while extremely drunk and with a child in the seat next to him, according to authorities.

Hovan, a first-round pick of the 2000 NFL draft, was pulled over Monday night in the Tampa suburb of Oldsmar and jailed that night on suspicion of drunken driving and felony child neglect. He was released about 8½ hours later on bond that required no dollar amount.

The Boston College standout recorded 192 tackles and 17 sacks over five seasons with the Vikings. He joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2005 and played another five seasons to wrap up his career.

A message was left Wednesday morning with Hovan seeking his response to the allegations.

According to Pinellas County court records:

A sheriff’s deputy stopped Hovan about 7:40 p.m. along a well-traveled road and noted several classic signs of drunkenness including bloodshot eyes and being unsteady on his feet.

Hovan “performed poorly” during a field sobriety test, and preliminary breath tests administered at the scene measured his blood alcohol content at 0.309 and 0.315 nearly four times the legal limit for driving in Florida.

The extreme level of intoxication “posed great risk to the child’s safety,” one of the court filings read.

Authorities declined to identify the child or explain the youngster’s connection to Hovan. “We cannot release information that might tend to identify the minor victim, hence the redaction” from publicly disclosed court records, Sheriff’s Cpl. Charles Skipper said Wednesday.

In 2018, a court ordered Hovan to stay away from his wife and four children, ages 5 to 11 at the time, in connection with domestic violence allegations, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Hovan’s criminal history includes a drunken driving conviction in 2015.

PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz took accountability for his struggles during an address to the team this week, a gesture that is resonating well in the locker room as Philadelphia looks to snap its three-game losing streak Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

"The first step is admitting where you're bad at, and that's what I love that Carson did," veteran defensive end Brandon Graham said. "When we talked to the team, he knew he had to own some of the stuff that he's been doing, and he let us know that he's working his butt off to make sure that he starts doing a lot of stuff better. And that's all people want to hear is for you to take ownership of yours and we can move on. That's how you build relationships: taking ownership of what you do."

Wentz is mired in the worst season of his career. He ranks first in interceptions (15) and sacks (46), 31st in completion percentage (58.1%) and 30th in yards per attempt (6.02). Another rocky outing in Monday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks helped drop the Eagles to 3-7-1.

More likely staggering across 494 to get to the next bar?

Hard to believe in those days, you had Met Stadium, Met Sports Center, The Thunderbird and couple of other hotels (more specifically hotel bars) and the rest was pretty much a cow pasture. Staggering across 494 wasn't nearly the high risk adventure it sounded like.

That was ground zero for us
We'd barely make it up there from the sticks, and once we got there, our car sat in the Marriott or Thunderbird lots from Thursday to Sunday afternoon
Every weekend. Well, most. All winter.
I should put together a list of MIPs we rode elevators with.
Hockey guys would get a kick out of the names.

I think we actually looked into constructing a tunnel under 494, but it was a tad spendy.
I lost a lot of good clothes to the piano wire fences on both sides
It looked like we were escaping Alcatraz, I think our fatality rates were only slighter lower than theirs.
Had some stupid, close calls. Idiots.
