DinoZimmer just raised up that big head, with the long green neck, mouth full of grass , making chomping noises ...... "whaaaaaaa?"

I first was thinking this was a post about Eating/cutting Bettle.

Dino has no patience to watch an offense go through growing pains with a young and aggressive QB.

He barely has the patience to deal with the D-Backs he's been forced to have to play. A QB would never last.

We saw what he's done to 2 rook kickers. A QB would be infinitely worse.

As was noted during the game, the use of Conklin and Ham in the second half in the pass game was discouraging. Getting the ball to Irv was not. Attempting to get it to Beebe, and not trying much to Jefferson and Thielen was frustrating

Then when they went long...they sent Sharpe deep. WHA???

No way Tampa covered that well. Perhaps a big part of that was the line getting it handed to them.

Went back to my old ways in that Red Zone sequence where Cousins fumbled, then took a sack the next play. Yelled "THROW THE DAMN BALL!"

After that I gave up.

He has the jitters back there. EVERY game. Getting knocked around doesn't help. He seems to take forever to survey the field. Except on those first down play actions. Those seem to be fake turn and throw because there's one guy he's going to.

Again, just the way it seems to me watching them.

I'd like to see the avg time he had to throw. Seemed like plenty and he just doesn't get rid of it. At least throw it away vs taking the sack and potential fumble that accompanies it.

There were a couple of "throw the damn ball" moments with Cousins, but at the same you need more 8 nanoseconds on the typical pass play to get the ball off. The o line was a steaming pile of dog shit yesterday.

The OL was just awful again

Still chuckling at the sight of O'neill sacking Cousins early on.
If you saw it you know what I mean
It was like he said "know what? just let me do it, it's quicker"

It was Dozier. And yes it was goofy. One column I read credited him with a 1/2 sack...

Some of the time the past couple of games I would completely agree. Sort of pump fake, again and then decide what to do. What DL said is so true. He looks for the wide open guy too much. There's not always that opp.

Sharpe gone

Another TE activated

Bailey still a Viking? What, they can't find a replacement?

Now THAT was an awesome MNF game

Didn't really care who won, just end-to-end entertainment
Bet our Vikings with talent were going ... can I play there?
Bet our coaches were going ..... gollderntarnation buncha whippersnappers thinkin they fast ....

Sad part is, the running game was the deal
That's the thing about dinosaur coaches, they think there's only one way to run the ball
There's not. There's a dozen, and most of them are fun as hell, and successful.

and of course... just to drive the nail in deep (as a Viking fan) ... we got to watch a stone cold kicker nail a long game-winner,
LIKE IT WAS HIS JOB

I've been happy no one has asked me if we should draft the Bison kid down the street here.
Because I haven't known what to say.
But now that I think about it, he might be a perfect fit.
Sit and watch awhile, get used to the league, and then get his shot.
The more mobile QBs I watch, the more I like them and feel they are essential moving forward.
He might be as athletic as any of the QBs that will be available this year.
The drama would be intense around here, but it might be worth it.

Real pro's were on the field last night and more importantly at the helm. Track meet at the end. Something we're not mentally capable of keeping up with.

Great points you guys

This game was not Vikings football

Whoopee

Ravens are supposed to have a good d

Got gashed again and again

Kept getting back off the canvas to fight

Jackson may never be the QB Mahomes is, but his game gets better and better.

Days he is accuracy-challenged are a problem. If his legs go at some point it's also trouble. But man this is what Vick could have been if he hadn't gone down the path he did.

Vick was ahead of his time
Coaches didn't know how to exactly use him

This is how he could have been running an offense.

Dynamic
No play is over, until he is on the ground.
As you say, not the prettiest passer, but the threat of his runs open up the passing game for them.
At the most important times.

Great comp on Vick, he was special

Kind of why I started thinking about Lance
Could grow into becoming a better thrower, if allowed to
the game is just FUN with guys like that running it
Vick made you hold your breath, and this latest batch of guys are all the same way
Anything can happen, and does. And mostly good.

You can see how easily he draws defenders toward him as he starts looking like he's going to run. Then he floats it.

Has to be so tough to defend. If you chase the receiver? He runs - and likely runs by you.

Can't defend them
Mahomes the best of the bunch
3-4 others right behind him
Wilson was the bridge between Vick and these guys

Steve Young probably could have done this.

And honestly, if they'd run the read option more, Tebow probably too.

Battering ram QBs wth some speed. Now you have sprinter speed QB that can throw.

And MN still drops back in the pocket and lets the QB get killed.

Frickin' dinosaurs.

What were some of the bigger plays Sunday early?

When Cousins saw an opening and ran. MOBILITY

Then Tampa closed the pocket and it was target practice

Don't bootleg. Don't roll him out

Make him a sitting duck

Brilliant.

How ironic ... we had the FIRST mobile QB
We also were the first to utilize a talented RB out of the backfield for catching the ball

Yeah, there were others, but Tark and Foreman were the best
And ol' Jerry Burns was a genius ahead of his time

Move up for Lance and get him ready

All with different coaching and front office

This .500 crap isn't changing

Cap hell, too many stupid draft flips for late picks

Going nowhere.

THIS

Every time we have some sustained success in a game, its because he rolls to the open spots before finding the open man
Statue football doesn't work anymore
Look at the D Linemen of today, would you want to try and contain/stop them?
Make your OL's jobs easier, move the target

Them Vikings is so smart they like to move him LEFT more than right.

I get you can't roll right all the time, but seems like they want to go left to trick the D.
