Lost in the excitement of the game was Baker Mayfield emerging as one hell of a QB as well.
Feels like he doesn't have near as many weapons as a Mahomes or a Murray, but he has a damn good set of skills.
Good feet, great arm, great vision. Fun to watch. Love his commercials too.
He can laugh at himself. Instant like for a guy who can do that.

Does any of Bettle Bailey's failings have to do with the new snapper? I'm not astute enough to say, but in the IT world when things suddenly go awry you first ask, what changed recently... In this case a new snapper. Bailey loses some cover here because they were perfect as a unit the 1st 2 games the new LS played and the next 2 have been a disaster.

I haven't heard the commentators say anything about bad snaps, so it probably isn't relevant, but just throwing it out there for conversation.

According to Ryan Longwell, Bailey is a little out of position at the ball. He says that is something that is easily fixable. He offered the Vikings his services to correct the same issue with Daniel Carlson, but they opted to cut him instead.

16. Minnesota Vikings (6-7)
Week 14 ranking: 17

Offense: 13
Defense: 18
Special teams: 31

Given how the Vikings' defense started the season, with multiple injuries and a number of rookies called on early, its current FPI ranking is remarkable. The offense has been moving the ball efficiently behind Dalvin Cook and a plethora of receiving options, but special-teams issues have snowballed into a full-blown crisis. The Vikings lost to the Bucs on Sunday in large part because of Dan Bailey's four missed kicks that left 10 points on the table. Minnesota can't afford for its kicking issues to continue after its playoff chances took a massive hit against Tampa Bay. Another mistake-laden loss would likely derail the Vikings' playoff hopes. -- Courtney Cronin

Love our ST ranking

This first part is like me and a conversation w/my kids in the past, or me and my parents

If Dan Bailey was looking for a vote of renewed faith from above Wednesday morning, he sure didn't get it from his boss.

In a short, terse video conference with reporters, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was asked three questions about the embattled Bailey, who missed four kicks in Sunday's 26-14 loss at Tampa Bay.

Question 1: Do you anticipate Dan Bailey being your kicker on Sunday?

"We'll see."

Question 2: Do you have any plans to add any other kickers to the roster?

"We'll see."

Later, Zimmer was asked if it makes him angry during the course of a game that he has a kicker he can't depend on.

He didn't bite.

"I don't think we have a kicker we can't depend on," Zimmer said. "There's all kinds of guys making mistakes throughout the course of the game. But that's just part of life, part of momentum. There's ebbs and flows to every game."

The Vikings' first practice for Sunday's game against the Bears is later today.

Anyone see Mayfield at the end of the half the other night?
68 yards
Effortlessly
Amazing arms on these guys.
I remember when we used a guy who couldn't reach the end zone from THE OPPONENTS 40

I had the misfortune of wearing a jersey that day at a sports bar. I got looks of pity. It was down right embarrassing.

Saddest part of that throw was that he didn't even have someone in his face that hampered the throw. He just, literally, couldn't get it that far.

I watched it with my sons. We all just bust a gut laughing. Watch everybody bumping and jostling for position in the end zone just to see that sucker drop in the next zip code.

The one I don't want to see is Patrick Mahomes' 10 worst throws against Ponder's 10 best throws.

My Raiduhs having their usual second-half slump
Mariota was impressive
The D was not.
Herbert is fun to watch. Lots of good young guns in this league.

one throw slightly behind a WR and the receiver not good enough, tipping it to a defender.

Else, mariota looked better than a bunch of "QBs" in the NFL

Bettle will get at least one opp to redeem

Kendricks probably out again Sunday.

I'm not excited about this game. Coming off the line being dominated by the Bucs, CHI will give them trouble.
