It's become the kind of reffing the old NHL was famous for.
Saints were supposed to win.
Brees is the star.
End of story.
Getting screwed was inevitable, and no one outside Minnesota saw anything wrong.
Extremely frustrating.

Watched the first 2 series, left to golf w/my daughter again. Watched the ending.

Can't stomach much more. Bridgewater already the "face of the franchise". Might be worth watching for a while.

Looked much better with Bridgewater in.
Faced extreme pressure from Grandma Ryan, yet didn't panic.
Didn't do anything special, but didn't panic.
Cassel should be ashamed of how he prepared and played. Like a scared little girl. (My apologies to girls)
The D showed some great improvements, and then sucked on third downs again.
It's a work in progress.
Haven't given up on Zimmer yet. You can see he's working his ass off on our obvious weaknesses.

I have been reading a number of reviews, and sounds like Kalil is just putrid.rated worst LT in the NFL after 3 weeks. bad news.

Blanton knocked on for bad safety play. And here I hoped they would upgrade that spot. Continues to kill the defense.

I haven't given up either. But like the Twins, i'm finding other things to do instead of investing time. Ican do thatwhen it's not so nice outside.

Your comments mesh with my feelings, Ed.
My two whipping boys yesterday (after Cassel left) were Blanton and Khalil.
Both were blatantly brutal. Along with Charlie Johnson. Awful OL play at times.

Blanton was horrible. Absolutely putrid. Kalil is actually making me miss Bryant McInnie, which I didn't think was possible. And Johnson whiffed completely on the Teddy sack. Say what you want about Tice, when the 6'9" doofus was running the O-line, those guys played mean and took great joy in beating the shit out people.

After the 34 yard TD pass, I knew theywere toast. Blanton was awful in coverage.

Don't they have anyone to play that spot? how long has it been since they were competent at strong safety?

SS

like MN Twins SS sufferage.

Can't stand Johnson. Good for at least one horrid play per game. Left side apparently sucks big time. Fun.

I hate Johnson too, but Kalil is the even bigger issue IMO. We were supposedly drafting the best college LT in the last 10 years when we took Kalil. He was supposed to have 15 straight pro-bowl seasons before retiring and waiting for his inevitable induction the HOF. What happened?

Blanton wasn't just awful in coverage, his tackling was legendary, in a horrific way. When he tried to get Graham to the ground it was comical.

Yeah, he couldn't grasp the concept that you don't try to tackle a guy twice your size up around the chest.

On an unrelated note, Drew Brees is climbing up my list of douche bags. He was milking the bogus call for it was worth in the presser; calling it an obvious call and likening it to vintage Hulk Hogan WWE moves. You whined and got your bullshit call. Just shut the f*** up you little douche bag.

The NFL is a 10 billion dollar a year enterprise that uses part time refs. Make them full time.....have them spend the week working out and watching film and reviewing good and bad calls.
Instead of 3 to 4K per game, pay them 100K for a full time job with bonuses for working the playoffs.

I go back and forth on this. Because if you do that you probably won't have some of the best ones, who are doctors/lawyers/superintendents, etc. This is truly a "side gig" for a lot of those guys so I'm not sure they'd give up what they have for a $100K salary.

Exactly. Wasn't even a penalty, IMO and that little prick got all pissy about it. Once that whiny bitch threw his hissy-fit, they throw the flag? I wish they would have flagged him 15 for that rant just to send a msg.

Good thoughts guys. I had really high hopes for Kalil (still do) but very disappointing so far. It's Exum time at S. Still think he can be a very good one.

At least we have Teddy. Man, I really think he's going to be a good one. Teddy Ice back there. Night and day from Ponder to him; night and day. Give him the keys to the franchise and let him run with it. I still believe in Zimmer and Norv too, Scott. Still firmly believe they're the best coaching staff any MN team has had in a long, long time.

Our house was livid at him.
He even played "victim" afterwards. Golden boy bastard.
Even during his whining, he admits to retaliating.
Where was the call for THAT

Yep.
I'd have paid Tice whatever he wanted, to stay the OL coach.

We need more of that. Khalil is the new style nice guy with technique. Appears to be too good for football.

The usual drill. On Wednesday the refs will admit that they got it wrong and that it should have been fourth and super long for the Saints.

And The Saints will smile and know for a fact that they got away with another one.

And I must be a cheap-shot bastard, because I got angrier the more it went on.
Munnerlyn spent the rest of the game schmoozing Bree's, and all of our guys made sure to pump his tires after the final whistle.
Screw that.
Start letting these pampered stars know that you're on to them, at least.
You look like fools the way you accept your fate right now.

Friend that went to the game said the SuperDome/plaza experience was just awesome. Gotta make a trip out that way soon.

As I said, at least we have found our QB it appears. It's a low bar, but he may be the guy we've been waiting for all our lives.

OK, let's not jump the gun.
He did well enough. He didn't make any egregious mistakes. Had poise and threw the ball well. What he didn't do is lead a TD drive against a sieve of a defense. Teddy looked good. But didn't light the world on fire.

YET.

True, Trekkie. And I'm not saying he has/did. Just saying I feel very comfortable in him leading this team. Glad it's getting started now. Now we need to figure out RB and LT.

I don't think the plan was for McKinnon to play much at all this year. He's incredibly raw as a RB. My guess is he was going to mostly be hidden on the roster for a year, and given a token snap here or there.
