Tough situation for Zimmer, but that was a Frazier-esque team meltdown. Ponder led the charge -- I can't believe we were bummed less than two years ago that he couldnt' start a playoff game in lambeau -- but the defense was atrocious as well.

Gotta show up to play every week, at a minimum. They sure didn't last night.

Captain M is a good run stopper.

Can't say much for his pass defense so far.

Rhodes is the best coverage guy at this point.

We were bummed he couldn't start the game because Joe Webb was starting in his place.

Then we were bummed because the Vikings didn't stick to a gameplan that worked beautifully on the first drive of the game. A gameplan that the 49ers ganked the next week, stuck to and had a QB run 180 yards and the Packers out of the playoffs.

AD's great season flushed down the tubes with poor coaching an atrotious QB play...

Relax, everyone, relax.
I went back and analyzed some tape of the game this morning.
Relax.
Because, we aren't very good at football. And that won't change overnight.
Relax.

Is Ponder really that bad......he is worse now than he was as a rookie. And we have people here questioning Hicks' work ethic.

The inability to accurately throw to receivers. Unreal. 22 incompletions, and so many of them too high, behind the receiver.

And, as usual, look at one side of the field. And that's it.

Ick.

To be fair, 1st Cassel got all the reps in practice, then Teddy so Ponder had 2 days of reps to try and get some timing with his WR. Now after that, I hope we don't see him again.

The offensive line sucked last night also. Couldn't run or pass.

I'm going to lay this out there for comments. Both teams had same amount of time to prepare. Now the Packers have been playing with the same system for years, while the Vikings still learning a new one. Should this make a difference? The Packers as a whole looked more prepared.

I don't think the Packers are that good and don't think the Vikings that bad

It feels like "far-less attractive Rob Lowe" played QB for us last night.

Lambeau was "interesting". Ugly night for football though; just an ugly couple days in Wisconsin (shocking, I know). About what I expected. No real frills to it. Drunken fans. I was impressed that it was close to the action re: seats. Didn't seem like there's a bad seat in the house.. I would have liked to make it to tailgating and on a nicer day. Maybe some other time.
Kerry, sorry didn't get to meet up. Time was pretty tight for us getting in/out with craziness in Chicago airports. Never seen Midway like that before; ghosttown with so many cancelled/postponed flights.
I should have expected this with Ponder and the short week. They really do need to end these Thursday games or make them the London game coming off byes. The average score in the Thursday games? 42-8 at the hands of the home team. They're laughers and a huge advantage for them. And when you add Ponder to the mix? Oh boy.

I have the same thoughts on Ponder; he seems like a good guy to me and I've been very impressed how much class he's shown over these years. But he's just not good. You can tell before he throws it when its' going to be an INT or bad play. No zip on the ball, inaccurate, and panicky. He's the anti-IceWater. Will be so happy to see him back next week. First Lambeau experience sucked but I can't wait to go back there soon when Teddy is ready when we get to kick their ass.

I loved this take from one of the Strib writers. It's dead on accurate.

In the first half, while a victory was still theoretically in reach for the Vikings, Ponder completed only eight of his 18 attempts for 60 yards with a pair of interceptions. His two first-half highlights were a nice throw but incomplete pass to Jarius Wright after Ponder executed a play-action fake with no one else in the backfield and his tackle of Packers linebacker Jamari Lattimore after his second interception

I literally got numb when I saw the play action "fake" with nobody in the backfield. It was one of the those moments in life where you are just speechless.

Wow how did I miss this!

I want to see a gif of that. That and the fail Mary can be all timers like the doink off the facemask for Williamson.

In Teddy We Trust.

In all honesty, I hope he asked Spielman for a raise in the middle of that debacle on Thursday.

Why?

The NFL would go broke just handling the mail, much less providing specific compensation.

Great day of football after a fun day yesterday (baseball and football). Bears lose, Lions lose, Titans lose...to the Browns!
