I would be interested in learning if Greenway has had a positive influence on Barr.

Agree that Greenway is getting old and probably needs to go at the end of the season.

The SD connection with the Vikings will come to an end.

Off the field, he is a pretty solid guy.

I can't agree on them missing AD. McKinnon's been solid and Asiata is decent in a Moe Williams/Leroy Hoard sort of way. But you're still talking about the best RB in the NFL. I think he would help our line tremendously, as he has for the last few years, and in turn help keep defenses honest for Teddy and the receivers. I think you put AD on this team and we have at least 2 more wins so far and are a playoff team.

Asiata/McKinnon will never be AD in his prime, but that combo can be good enough for a quality NFL team. I don't think the delta is that great, and let's face it, even without the legal troubles, how much time does AD have left?

Ya, I think that duo is average at best together. AD and McKinnon? Gotta be the best in the league. And I've always felt AD was one of those guys that would defy age for a few years with how in shape he is and his work ethic. He's a true freak. I see him being solid talent-wise for at least 3-4 more years. He'd be 32 by the end of the 2017 season. That'd be 3 years after this one.

AD and Mac would be fun to see.
Even IF I'm done with AD and ready to move on.

Same thought. I still feel a little queasy about it.

Yep. Punting from the 20 and it dropped just past the 50. That level of suckitude is hard to fathom.

Seriously, how much does Spielman regret letting Kluwe go at this point? Not that it wasn't time -- he wasn't that great and was expensive -- but pretty clearly, Spielman was cocky from the Blair Walsh pick the year before. After the lawsuit and the fact that his chosen replacement blows...I'm guessing he would take that one back.

Someone brought it up in the Vikings thread, but I do wonder if that's on coaching partly. Locke was incredibly highly regarded coming out of college and many had him as a 4th rd pick (we got him last 5th, as much as angst as a "wasted" FIFTH ROUND pick gets....) and Kluwe wasn't exactly great either the last few years.

And

IMO

They don't miss Adrian Peterson. At all.

Perhaps that's what is motivating AD to move toward a settlement after saying he would fight the end. He suddenly looks very replaceable.

He is.......as is every running back in the NFL unless they are excellent receivers as well.

Chuck Foreman would be the man if he were playing in today's NFL.

Did I tell you guys that I recognized and met Chuck Foreman at the airport a couple months ago? Got my pic taken with him and he gave me an autographed picture. He's the man. Probably a nicer guy than Ullger. Maybe nicer than Flip too.

My opinion since last season.

Trying to justify the draft pick.

Need a big punt? Likely to get 30 yards.

Need to pin them back? Likely to boom it 60 yards thru the end zone.

Dave, Kluwe was average at best his last few years here. Wasn't worth the media headache when you're talking about a punter. I didn't have a problem with that.

Locke wasn't a bad pick really. It hasn't worked out, but again, he was thought to go earlier than that. And 2) it's a late 5th rd pick. You can't ever count on a late 5th rd pick being a regular so why not make it a potentially great punter?

I met him in the buffalo airport in 2000, and one of the first things he did said was,

"Do you know my son Jay? He's a linebacker for the Bills."(which I did know)

Sheesh
Tough crowd
I thought Greenway turned back the clock a little yesterday.
Wasn't horrible, anyway.

Maybe I was swayed by his TV time last night. One good man. One very, very, good man.
Hopefully we can add guys so we can spot him more, and play him less.

The Greenway whiff on that TD run was the end of the end, I thought. But then he came up with the sack. We'll call that the last hurrah.

There's no rule that says they can't bring Kluwe back. I guess his veteran minimum would be the hang-up.

Yep, I believe that there are a number of guys on the street that were let go at some point in 2014 that are better than him

But Ricky doesn't want to admit it was a bad pick.

Always used to say this about the Gophers too.
If Mason would have walked into a student commons area one night and said "I need a punter" he Would have been miles ahead.

Ya, I'm sure they're itching to bring back a mediocre PUNTER that sued them....

BTW, if you notice, not a lot of teams clamoring to sign Kluwe. He's been available for 2 years now. That should tell you something.

Same with some of those Tubby point guards. You couldn't tell me they couldn't find someone on campus that was a star PG in HS that could have functioned better than Hoffarber (sp?) at point.
