The Lookouts are absolutely killing teams this year. They're the Dodgers of the Southern League in AA. 35-15 in the 2nd half, 77-43 (and a 9 game lead over EVERYONE) for the year.

I guess it helps when you have a near-ready major league SS and 5 starters in the rotation with legitimate shots to be starters in the majors as well. I can't remember a Twins' minor league team with more starting rotation talent than that; can you, Ed? Crazy that in the span of 3 seasons they had arguably the best minor league affiliate offensive talent for the Twins ever (2015) and this year is that re: pitching.

Dougie Alphabet is managing Ft. Myers in high A. He has been more the making silk purses out of sows ears business. Well, the first half anyway. I don't know if it was posted yet, but Rooker is FSL player of the week.

Hey, Dougie took them to 2 straight Southern League championships before they shuffled the coaches.

Ahhhhhhhh. I didn't know there was a progression plan. I'm still used to the "let the prospects rot on the vine" plan.

Probably the best part about having Dougie involved.
I think he's truly a bigger part of things than he gets credit for.
A REAL baseball mind, and he uses experience from OUTSIDE this org, which is key.

Speaking of Dougie, this HAS to be his last year of toiling for us in the lower ranks

We either move him up or he moves on, I bet.
Its time

Agreed. At first I thought he was demoted. According to the Twins, they like having him working with players earlier in their development and Doug likes being able to manage from home.

Yep. Makes sense that Doug wants to be in Ft. Myers, although Chattanooga is a pretty fantastic place in its own right.

I like Doug and Jake both a lot. And they've both had a ton of talent for the most part over the last few seasons.

I agree with SMF. I don't think Doug would leave for anything less than a major league job, but I think he must be on a few organizations' radars by now.

As of Sunday Morning

#MNTwins affiliates now have the best collective winning percentage in the minors at .595 (396-270). The #Yankees are 2nd at .594 (453-309).

I get the feeling that Jay will be a dominant lefty reliever.

Worth his high pick? No
Useful when we're ready to compete? Yes

Just needs to stay healthy.

Plans were big for him this year.

I could see someone else at 2nd if Polanco doen't hit consistently. Going to be a lot of options.

I would run Lewis at SS as long as possible. Gordon at 2nd would work, so would Miranda/Palacios/Javier. Palacios / javier at SS would too.

Rooker is hitting. He'll be in the bigs next year during the season.

I also left off Kiriloff.
Seems like a guy who will get moved.
Some of these bats will need to be moved for arm I think.

Definitely. Will need to move back up in the system ranks to make some of that happen.

Player development "Seems" to be on the uptick.

Perhaps it's due to having better players.
