ORIGINAL: wethrock Twins had their AA team in Orlando FL for many years, but left in early 90s and wound up sharing a stadium in Nashville with an AAA team. The were unhappy there. Joe Buzas was the long-time owner of the New Britain RedSox franchise, and was also the operator of the Twins AAA team in either Portland OR or SaltLakeCity. Boston RedSox were trying to force Buzas to move to Springfield MA so that they'd get better Mass. legistlative support for building a brand new Boston stadium.. Buzas refused, in part because I think he knew the Twins wanted a new place to play. So, he terminated the Boston RSox lease and brought in Twins. That year is still talked about as a nightmare year for the staff in Nashville because they were operating two teams (AAA and AA both) on one field, with mainly one staff in the front office. They literally had a game EVERY DAY at the ballpark. I can't even imagine how life must have been for the groundskeeper. Gardy and Rick were the manager/pitching coach of that team.
