ORIGINAL: Brad H I say that Mond starts on November 14 against the Chargers. The Vikings will be 3-5 or 4-4 and coming off a couple of bad losses. With the defensive ends he meets in the first half of the season he could even be hurt by then. My second choice is after four games. If the Vikings lose to the Bengals out of the gate, it's entirely possible they start 0-4. With a bad Oline Cousins has only missed ONE game in his time with the Vikings. He is durable and dependable in this regard. Zimmer is slow to start rookies. So he will be slow to start Mond, who has ZERO experience over Cousins who has years of it. and Cousins isn't the catastrophe you make him out to be. He could be better especially in 2 minute situations as you suggest, but in the end Mond doesn't see the field this year. And likely next year either if they don't find away to get rid of Cousins before then. And that was the final game of the season where we sat Thielen, Diggs and Cook as well. Its the only game Cousins has missed in his 6 years as a starter. Nothing it guaranteed, but he's been very durable and dependable despite horrifically bad Olines in front of him here and in Washington. And with Zimmer's anxiety about starting rookies unless he has no choice.... There is no way Mond sees the field as long as Cousins is standing upright. A very likely scenario considering history to this point.
