Nice first half. Got a gimpy QB and now a gimpy LB. Need to stay healthy.

A good half for the Gophers. Now let's hope PJ doesn't let up on the gas until the game is over.

Love our punter, that kid is a weapon today. Another one stuck inside the 10.

He sure is. Just get the ball from center and hand off kid, no need for passing at this point.

Overall, a very nice win for the Gophers today. Now the competition picks up in the B10. It will be interesting to see how these kids hold up against better teams.

I didn't have access, which pisses me off, but I digress....., How did we look? Miami (OH) isn't Alabama but they have some (?) level of respect. Seems like the D was lights out and the O was "the O". This guess is just based on the score.

You are correct, the D looked real good and the O left some points on the field with some drops and and errors. Williams ran for close to 150 yards and looked pretty darn good for a true freshman. For such a young team, the team as whole appears to be more talented than any team we have seen here in years.

Thanks man, should be a good gauge this next week. I'm not expected much this year but a low/mid level bowl game would be a nice treat.

When I was watching the game yesterday I heard them talk about how ridiculously young our team is. If we can be OK this year most likely good things are in our future.

Most freshman of any D1 team in the country I think I heard. And yes they do seem like a special group. A lot of talent, but they'll take some lumps this year, would be nice if they could scrape their way into some minor bowl game. And then the future looks very nice.

Fleck made a good point in his press conference. Said the players were hanging their heads a bit because they 'only' won by 23. That's good because it means they have high expectations. And look around, man. Look what happened in the Big 10 yesterday. I'll take a bunch of 18-19 year old kids feeling sad about a 23 point win any day.

According to the Pioneer Press, the Gophers are playing 28 true and redshirt freshmen

Liking the Wildcat more and more, esp after the pass on the goalline Saturday
We're finally watching some of these MN kids excel for US rather than others
Green and Johnson are guys with real bonafide talent.
The new RB was fun too.
Ways to go, but I LOVE the fact they were disappointed in the size of the win.
THAT is what we need more of, no more of this "ahh, it was good enough" bullshit.

Oh my

On a day when Big Ten members Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern and Wisconsin each lost to double-digit underdogs at home -- and Rutgers lost at Kansas by ... ahem ... 41 points

Is this the week we find out what we have ?

I think it's a really good baramoter.

Easy win - we are a lot better than most of us expected
Tight win/loss - we are middle of the road B10 team who may sneak in to a lower bowl game
Big loss - we are young so we have that going for us

This assume it's not some wonky game where we march up and down the field but have 4 fumbles/int's ect...

Isn't Maryland supposed to be one of the worst teams in the big ten? They are kicking our ass in the first half.

Gophers with a 31 yard pass play that is going to be overturned. It's the right call, but we could have easily snapped the ball before it got reviewed.
