The whole point of teasers is that you can get almost all of them right, it's always one or two that kill you. That's why they do them, and make huge money on it.

I didn't say it was easy. What I'm saying is SUPER teasers (10 points of the spread) are easier than regular teasers (5 points of the spread). If you're the kind of person that is good enough on a regular teaser to get 4 out of 5, and barely miss the 5th one, you can hit on a Super teaser. If you did 2 different regular teasers of 5 teams, and they both barely missed, you likely would have WON on a Super teaser. All 4 that hit on the regular teaser hit on a Super teaser will hit, and the 5th one will hit if the extra 5 points makes a difference for you.

Prescott, do you live in Vegas ? If so, I might be interested as I hate having to fly out to Vegas every time I want to do some Super teasers.

Marty, I feel I owe it to you to tell you. You have an addiction.

Prescott -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 7:31:36 PM)

No, I get there once or twice a year Marty. When you put up a teaser that actually hits, I'll be impressed. I like kidding you about the bets and predictions you 'almost' get, but it's not a big deal.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 7:59:45 PM)

I hope to impress you in the next few weeks Prescott.

What I was saying about getting close with 4 of 5 on a regular teaser, was trying to make the point that a 10 team SUPER teaser probably isn't that hard to hit. I really DID hit a 14 team Super Teaser one time. I was also one Doug Flutie TD scramble with 3 seconds on the clock left, away from winning another teaser that would have paid $2000.

I will try to post a 14 team Super Teaser that hits this season, that is my goal. Just doing it for kicks. 69 is wrong, I don't have an addiction, I'm just doing it for fun. I would like it if someone else would try posting one, but what would be REALLY cool would be if someone were to point out the 1 or 2 they think I'll get wrong, and IF I get every other one right that would be AWESOME if they correctly pointed out the game or O/U that they thought would cause it to be a loser.

Brad H -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 9:34:52 PM)

Marty, lets have a little game. You give me you lock of the week each week and I will give you mine.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 9:39:24 PM)

You're on Brad. Are we allowed to pick the team that is playing Jacksonville each week ?

Let's take bets!

Seriously.

I'll go with Brad for $20. Who's got marty?

Any game, college or pro. Just for giggles.

In fact, one college and one pro game.

Brad H -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 9:50:19 PM)

My absolute lock of the week on college ball.

UCLA -5.5 at Utah.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 9:51:20 PM)

Nope, JUST pro games. I almost never watch college games.

ONE pro game. Are we including the points spreads Brad, is that the idea ?

Anybody betting on ME ? I'd be flattered, I'll take the job seriously and give it my best.

Yes, or the over/under.

Brad H -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 9:53:56 PM)

Another absolute lock in the college ranks. Georgia giving 10.5 at Tennessee.

Speaking of Jacksonville, they play at Denver in two weeks. It's very possible that game breaks the record for the highest point spread in an NFL game.

Jacksonville gets Justin Blackmon back this week.

Brad H -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 9:59:00 PM)

All right, one pro game it is.

I'll take Atlanta -10 at home versus the Jets.

They'll still be at least a 24 point dog at Denver.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/2/2013 11:27:11 PM)

Brad, there are some GREAT matchups this week. I'll have to get back to you on my 'lock' pick, it might end up being an O/U. I like your pick Brad, picking against the rookie QB.

It's NOT my lock of the week, I'm just going with Cleveland over Buffalo on Thursday.

Gotta take the points don't you?

I'd like to see the lock of the week in college football. I always thought a guy could make some money by picking just one or two college games a week and betting some money on it. I'm just not in with the local bookie

I was going to go the opposite side of the Cleveland/Buffalo matchup. The feel-good story has to end at some point in Cleveland. Indians lose. Browns lose and Ohio State gets a scare from Northwestern.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/3/2013 10:51:04 PM)

Brad, I was right about Cleveland winning, just didn't think it was a lock. I'll probably let you know my lock Saturday night, maybe sooner.

Maybe somebody should take Ricky on and pick me to beat Brad. I was right and Brad was wrong on Buffalo/Cleveland.

How're we supposed to get our bets to the bookie if you wait till Sat. night? Get on it, man.

Deleted just so there is no confusion.

I can't imagine marty hitting a 1.5 team teaser. Dude's wack.
