Well both MN girls Smith & C. Montgomery were cut prior to the start of the season.

-------------------------
In ohter news Lynx take care of Nolan Richardson & his team '40 mins of hell' w/a win #1 of 2010 in Tulsa 80-74

Looking forward to the home opener tomorrow. Both the Lynx & Washington Mystics will be on 2nd nite of back to back games. Hopefully the home crowd will give the Lynx the extra boost they'll need to get a win.

The Lynx will need a boost. They're likely to rely on 6 players for most of the minutes. But hey, with Augustus out for a couple more weeks, Brunson not back yet, and Wiggins recovering, it seems like half the team is missing. It'll be interesting when they're at full strength.

Lynx win opener despite being short handed.Charde Houston continues to be one of the biggest steals of WNBA draft history.

And Whalen was impressive as hell.

She didn't score well, but she only had 1 turnover against a team that was absolutely mugging us for the entire game.

I think the Shock might've been playing rugby...

I watched last nights crushing home defeat but it does not bother me so much. With about half the team missing including Augustus and Wiggins what should we expect.

The last few years the Lynx got off to great starts with less talent. Let's see if this team can turn it around and have a great ending

Last night was bad. Yes, our best player is out of the lineup for a few weeks, but we still have at least 4 all stars playing right now. We got one of the leagues elite PG's to run the show and our 1st round this year is putting up good numbers. There is no excuse for an effort like last night's.

Nope. Rashanda McCants had been putting up big numbers off the bench, but even she was ice cold last night. In general they look like their NBA counter part. Just not interested in playing defense.

The real bench is on the court already. They're missing 2-3 starters, and they're only really playing 7. Some people are getting major backup minutes now, but they'll get nothing but scattered minutes later in the season.

Heck, just look at what changes at PF/C when Brunson arrives: who gets anything but scattered minutes after Anosike, Brunson, and Houston? That'll be a huge upgrade inside.

When Augustus and Wiggens are back, then McCants will be down to scattered minutes, and Wright will be more effective when her minutes are cut down to a sane amount.

Jim Pete is on KFAN now and said Wiggens should be ready to play in the next game.

The classic, "Limited minutes?"

Same will likely go for Augustus, when she's finally back on the court, which should be fairly soon, too. Any word on that?

Brunson will just need to learn some plays. I have no idea when she's expected.

I think Augustus was supposed to miss something like the first 10 games.

Nice win for the Lynx last night. Monica Wright came off the bench and started sinking some big 3's and Brunson had a double-double. They also welcomed back Wiggins

Brunson was the best player on the floor last night. That includes Turrasi<sp>.

I hated seeing Houston lose the starting job, but after seeing Brunson last night I understand. And she is just getting to know her teammates

She was all over the place last night. 16 pts, 15 reb, 4 stls, 1 blk, 3 asst. I surprised at only 1 block. She changed at least half a dozen other shots.

So are the Lynx any more popular w/ Whalen on the team? KFAN is still not giving us score updates on Lynx games. I think that should be the minimum goal for the Lynx in the next year - Reporting of game scores on KFAN.

I was right there after the Twins game, but couldn't talk my son into going to the game.

Help me out.  Why is she out and when will she return?  She's our best player, isn't she.  Certainly our most potent scorer.

She had a fibrous growth the size of a softball removed from her abdomen. Not sure if she has been even cleared to practice yet

Another disappointing season, no matter how it may be justified.
