Chiefs are trading six-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft, sources tell ESPN.

That's a big haul.

Lucky KC...severe overpay extension.

Tom Pelissero
@TomPelissero
The #Dolphins are signing Tyreek Hill to a three-year, $75 million extension as part of the trade from the #Chiefs, per source. So he's now under contract through the 2025 season at $23.8M per year overall.

By most metrics, the NFL's new highest-paid receiver.

KC will still score plenty of points, as I think it's 80% QB-20% WR, but they will miss the big plays after the catch from Hill. I think taking more plays to score, will mean either more injuries to WRs, OL or Mahomes.

Same thing with the Pack minus Adams, more injuries to WR, OL, maybe Rodgers.

Oh, poor Rodgers!

I hope we go into eternal cap hell to sign Barr just to see him slam Rodgers for good.

That typically leads to a greater likelyhood of a single play that throws a monkey wrench into a drive.

If he's healthy, Raheem Mostert is a major pickup for the Dolphins.

Mostert had such great vision, he can really read the field up ahead well, and then makes great choices in where to cut.

The additions of Mostert and Hill make Miami a good bet for their season over, 9. I think they can get to 10 wins.

I was wondering if any of you with greater powers of recollection could help me with something. I remember watching a play where the defender hurt himself badly in an attempt to hold back on a tackle. Anybody remember the play in question and who it was?

Vaguely, wasn't it a play when he tried to avoid crunching the QB on the ground?

I think so. He hurt himself pretty bad by trying to be gentle on the tackle. I'd like to revisit that play.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/josh-allen-admits-hes-still-hurt-by-bills-losing-the-coin-toss-in-playoff-loss-to-chiefs/

I am trying to understand the new OT rules, and not trying to nitpick this article, but my understanding is they will still have a coin flip for OT, and it could still end up mattering. Or am I getting this wrong ?

My interpretation: You win the coin toss, get the 1st TD, the other team matches it, you then score a FG and win. So it's still an advantage to win the coin flip, correct ?

Under the current rules the team winning the coin flip in OT games wins 52.8% of the time. However in the playoffs coin flip winners are 10-1 under these rules.
If the receiving team scores a TD on the first drive of OT they win. Game over. If they score a FG the other team can match or win by scoring a TD.

Until he leads them to a 3-0 preseason with a 153.8 QBR. Then they'd give him a chance.... Right?

Hah,

He couldn't even do that against guys that are less than 3rd and 4th stringers in the USFL.

Bakhtiari of GB put on PUP list.

His career could be over.

This is fairly significant being they really don't have a starting LT without him.

Also on the list is Elgin Jenkins and Christian Watson whom they traded up with us to get.

Sloter to Jacksonville : It wouldn't be the first time Doug Peterson had a backup QB lead his team to a Superbowl victory.

HA! Hilarious. The resemblance is uncanny. Didn't the Creed haircut become uncool in the late '90's?
