The Bears might lose the last game to the Vikings, so the Bears get the Vikings in the playoffs, instead of the hot Packers.

Heck the Lions might overtake us as well.

Ugh, sad to say it, but at this point we'd be best served if that happened. The Vikings aren't winning the Superbowl and will exit in the first round if they make the playoffs. They'd be better off losing out and getting a higher draft pick and 4th place schedule next year. Of course, I'll still be rooting for them anyway. What a train wreck 2018 has turned out to be...

Lots of talk about the Wagner block. The wording in the rule book is NEW this year and is clear. The new wording states, "May not place a hand or hands on a teammate or opponent in an attempt to jump through a gap to block an opponent's kick or apparent kick." Case closed. Foul.

Would of like to have seen how this would of played out if it was called right

... and no one will ever know no matter how pissed off and negative you want to be about it

-- speaking of negative; freekin' game brought out the best in me I know that

Instead of a 47 yard FG attempt down by 6, we'd have a 1st down on the 15.

And while I hate the play the "blame the refs" game, the fact that they actually threw the flag on a clearly blatant penalty AND THEN PICKED IT UP is beyond outrageous.

Yeah this one isn't on Priefer. It's calls like this that give plenty of credence to the sway theory.

And one of the idiots calling the game said that the block was because we "ran the play too slowly".

The announce team last night was insufferable.

The NFL is a multibillion dollar business and they still haven't figured out, like every other sport, how to do it with full time refs.

Imagine if, instead of going back to their mild mannered day jobs during the week, they had to watch video of blown calls they had to learn to recognize what a foul is supposed to look like and that they should know the rule book inside and out and practice their jobs frequently all season and offseason?

But no. The NFL is just a-ok with the refs ****ing up game after game after game...

The whole NFL product is beyond poor imo. Between stupid rules terrible announcers etc it's no longer a spectacle. I wonder what ratings would be if fantasy football wasnt so popular? I used to love NFL even if my team sucked. I can't honestly say that anymore.

I heard Bill Simmons was willing to start a petition to get Witten back on the Cowboys after the rumors of the Cowboys trying to pull him out of retirement.

So Flippo is all but gone as OC.

How about next year we get ourselves a um. I dunno, Hue Jackson. He sucks as a head coach but he's had a lot of success as an OC.

Takers?

Not outrageous at all. The ref that threw the flag was NOT in on the 'sway', a ref that was in on the 'sway' of the Seahawks covering, over-ruled his call.

The Vikings are parting ways with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the situation.

This comes after their 21-7 loss to the Seahawks on Monday night.

Quarterback coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to call plays now, Rapoport added.

I think that will be the last OC Zimm forces out.

Sway or not it is outrageous. The call was right and that they picked up the flag is an outrage.

Isn't Stefanski the one everyone assumed would move into the OC slot before they hired Flip? Then Shurmer wanted to hire Stefanski, but the Vikings wouldn't allow him to interview with the Giants.

OC under Zimmer is about as stable as White House Chief of Staff under Trump.

For a team and a QB that can excel at play action, establishing the run is very important. Our problem here is an Oline that can't block for shit.

I hope this thread doesn't get lost in the news of Flipo. The NFL product is one hell of a case study in pandering to the base of lowest common denominator fans. I watch the CBS or FOX pregame shows from time to time and it's all a bunch of grown men acting like dumb little kids. Then it goes to announcers that are either dull robots (Aikman and Buck) or more clowns (Collinsworth and especially Gruden when he was in the booth).

Meanwhile, if you use the internet to follow the NFL you get smart analysis and brilliant breakdown in no-nonsense formats. In my opinion this is the type of NFL product the smart fan wants. NFL disregards the smart fan and panders to Joe Dumb Dumb with the wacky antics and the God Bless America schtick. Jokes on the NFL - Joe Dumb Dumb is going to tune in regardless of whether or not Terry Bradshaw yucks it up with Jimmy Johnson or not.

If Speilman is canned Zimmer is on borrowed time. No GM is going to let his fate ride on a guy he didn’t pick.

My hope is the Wilfs are pissed and they let Speilman and Zimm know it.

Fair enough, but Norv was/is garbage, Flip did some good things but has lost the plot in recent weeks. Shurmur obviously wasn't forced out.

I might be wrong but as long as Zimmer sticks his nose in the offense we won't win.

IMO, he needs to shut his mouth, get out of the head of the OC, and call his defense - maybe set up a team meeting or two.
