Odenigbo sounds like he is having a great camp. As a second year player would he be eligible for Mr. Mankato? I think so. If I'm not mistaken, he was released last year and had cups of coffee with other teams before coming back here. It would be an interesting story if he turns out to be a star for the Purple. Karter Schult is another one that had a cups of coffee with Green Bay, Carolina, Cleveland and the Salt Lake Stallions, but he was also at our rookie minicamp a year ago. I saw one report where someone said "I didn't think he had much of a chance to make the team, but I am starting to notice him now". I forget who said it. All of these defensive ends can't make the team and perhaps one might squeeze in somehow via practice squad or by virtue of an injury. I don't know why I focus so much at the bottom of the roster. Those are the players I relate to, I guess. They are struggling where many say that they can't do it. There are numerous examples of players that struggled from that starting point, but turned out to be outstanding players and I just find myself wondering if any of these players can do that. Perhaps not, but for now they are Vikings and I root for them all. I do look forward to the final cutdown day to see if any of them make the roster. Of course the Vikings have a particularly deep roster this year. That means good players will be cut and some of them may wind up playing for teams with other colors.
