I gotta believe no news is good news on Collins?

If it was a torn MCL/ACL they would have probably announced, put him on the IR and signed someone. Here's hoping. Big fan of Collins. Versatile, hoping he was our swing tackle and then groomed for RT. Very athletic.

We signed Tyler Catalina

There was a guard signed prior (Pup) but we released him when we signed Cat...which was after the Collins injury

I pretty much pop in on a daily bases "incognito", and keep up with what's going on in here, but I want

to come in, and get worked up over the MIGHTY VIKINGS, either being excited (which I see

happening this season) or a place to vent a little when we lose, but because of the last two and a half

years some use this site as a platform to get their political jabs in which is like a girl having a third

eye. (a total turnoff) I really loved this site, and had an opportunity to personally meet some GREAT

people that have a passion for the Vikes as much as I do, and a few of us still have a more direct

communication, and feel the same way that I do. I'd like to see this site get back to the way that it

was, and I would definitely post in here like I used to(although that might not be such a great thing)

and I know some others would as well. Anyway......... only time will tell. Until we meet again.....

GO VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!! BARROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I see us having a GREAT YEAR, and it would be fantastic to share a special season with the GREATEST
VIKING FANS AROUND!!!!!

It feels like an embarrassment of riches at the DE spot

IDK about that. With Bowars maybe.. but he is out for the year but it's good to hear that Odenigbo is stepping up.

A lot will depend on Grif and his health. If he or Hunter go down it gets thin. I think Adu goes to the PS.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/31/sports/football/michael-thomas-contract-saints.html

The Pro Bowl wide receiver’s five-year, $100 million contract extension is expected to set the market for others at his position.

That's a hefty chunk of salary cap

It was the same day. Somebody on another board said it was before. I'm not certain. Are you?

I was reading from Daniel House on Twitter, but here he summarizes in his website:

Defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo might have earned practice MVP honors. Odenigbo won all four of his 1-on-1 reps against Storm Norton, John Keenoy and Dru Samia. He also had two sacks and a pressure during team sessions. Odenigbo has been a strong performer in camp and has been succeeding against first-team competition occasionally. He has developed more diverse pass rushing moves and now has more counters within his skill set. After watching him in camp, it’s clear Obenigbo is making a strong case to see rotational snaps this season. Outside of common names at the position, I remain impressed with defensive end Karter Schult. He used a swim move to blow past Tyler Catalina in 1-on-1 drills and created another pressure in a team session. Schult has been flashing in several portions of training camp and has received a few rotational reps with the second-team unit.

I'm expecting pleasant surprises and looking for them. They may not be confirmed in the real games, but sometimes these back end players respond to opportunities. I do believe that physically there is only a paper thin difference between the starters and backups and sometimes the backups just need a little coaching up and some experience.

For what it's worth, KFAN's Meatsauce, Paul Lambert was praising Dru Samia left and right last night live from the night scrimmage. I can't find anybody else talking about him, though.

Reportedly, and in this video Garrett Bradbury and Pat Elflein have been working well together. So first Bradbury is drafted in the first round to take your job and if you're Elflein you have to give him tips on how to succeed. But then the two have to work together? It's the stuff of championships and I believe it is a foreshadowing for good things to come.

Interesting that they moved Dru Samia from right guard to left guard the other day. At least we have a viable backup plan if Elflein doesn't return to form.

I hope Hill gets another chance simply because (forgive me) the kid has real talent, despite being a knucklehead.

Did some research and wrote an examination of new Viking Bene Benwikere.

Who knows? The guy might stick around for awhile. The team may also be looking over the waiver wire during the preseason.

Here Jake Browning seems to have an arm. Wasn't that one of the knocks on him?

That was a 30 yard rainbow.
The only way that doesn’t get intercepted is if the Safety crashes into the CB.

We still have Weatherly, Griffin, and Hunter. Weatherly might overtake Griffin this year.

Didn't Browning have a shoulder injury in college that he's been recovering from?

Thought he was considered a good prospect early in his college career but has yet to regain his throwing velocity post injury

Browning was considered one of the best HS to college prospects ever. During his career he became the winningest QB in Pac12 history and won PotY and I believe has single season and career passing records. He did Hurt his shoulder in his Junior year I believe and wasn't the same QB that won PotY in his sophomore season. If he does fully recover the Vikings may really have something.

Overview

Accomplished four-year starter who is the school's all-time leading passer and winner of two conference championships. Even with those accolades, Browning is a college game-manager whose success is tied to his talent at receiver. Browning has moments where he can rise to the occasion, but he's failed to sustain it over the last two seasons and he doesn't have the size, arm strength or intangibles to fall back on. He is a late-round to undrafted prospect with an uphill battle to earn a roster spot.

i have a sense that griffen will be back this season - i see 10+ sacks...i'm starting to wonder what players like weatherly, harris, kearse, alexander and even waynes are looking for as far as an extension....

we're $23m over the cap already in 2020...cutting griffen, reiff and joseph saves us $33m...is harrison smith over this hill in middle-deep coverage? - he looks late most of the time....

signing barr and rudoph really threw this team for a loop in terms of cap space....

it's nice that boyd is getting some positive lip from the coaches, and his training camp tape looks pretty good...i, too, support keeping hill - i just hope he gets his head together before he loses the chance....

the players should make marijuana use an issue during the upcoming cba negotiations....

We can always use some good news.

An Update on Aviante Collins:

Zimmer says Collins is expected to return from the injury. He was wearing a wrap on it and walking around at the scrimmage Saturday Night. Zimmer however did not give a specific timetable for his return. Said team could still add a Tackle.

I have no clue as to which receivers will make the 53 roster, but Paul Allen said that Dillon Mitchell was one of the three players that stood out to him in the night practice.

Then there's this. If a player can show versatility that should improve his chances.

Mike Zimmer said Bisi Johnson has been learning multiple WR spots

The other two players that stood out to Allen were

(drum roll please)

Irv Smith Jr. who he said is still obviously learning where to line up, but showed he is going to be special.

And quarterback Sean Mannion who he says is much better than expected, including showing a decent arm.
