If Mularkey is hired, he absolutely needs to bring Russ Grimm with him.

6 yards passing for the game.

Interesting defensive tactic by the Chargers.

They pretty much used 3 Safety's for LB's all game.

I think we might see more teams copy this next season.

I thought we might see that after we picked up Iloka.

I could get on board with that

IDK alot about Mularkey's offensive philosophy but Grimm has been an extremely successful oline coach.

As the passing game is embellished with rules favoring by NFL DCs will continue to find ways to slow..

Like Brad pointing out the the pass rush becomes less important in heavily pass orientated Os we may conversely see back end coverage beefed up with more athletic secondary players.

If you cannot pressure the QB then take away all the down field threats and dare them to beat you with the underneath and running game...

Defense starts at the corners...

Mularkey is very much the definition of a run first and often offense.

Would it take pressure off Kirk and allow him to make better reads along with a beefed up Ol line?

Why under Mularkeys OC schemes and heavy run orientated O did Mariota throw more interceptions than touchdowns? System or QB and how would that translate to Kirks strengths of game?

We will see how the games go when the Bye teams start playing but defense is ruling the roost this weekend.

I would argue that the Front 7s this weekend were the key to their teams' wins.

As well Luck has good presnap reads and a great outlet in Ebron all make a OL look better and nuetralize the DL rush with quick decisions and release... didnt see a whole lot of luck throwing zero yard lateral passes and turning his back to the pass rush either...

So it doesn't matter that much if the Vikes have good front 7 like Houston, a good OL and athletic QB like Luck will beat them in the playoffs.

It's too bad the Vikes couldn't have found a QB that can run while overpaying on a QB.

Bears tops in turnovers in NFL, 27 ints

also lead the league in gaining first downs on penalties on O

our coaching does not value those aspects of the game and it shows

Bears average 3 first downs per game due to penalty...
That seems like a crazy stat to me.

Some years a team has a lot of things fall their way...

One more thing on the drafting Dalvin Cook or OLine debate.

Does it matter? I see the Bears started Witzmann after Kyle Long was injured. He started 7 games. We had him Sept to Oct. Guess our guys were too good for him.

Our coaching stinks. Even Elf looked terrible this year. We need a new philosophy.

I agree, but am not sold on Elf.

Joseph and Elf are two questionmark guys in my book. Can Joseph rebound or is his slide permanent? Can Elf be solid; where was all that "technique"? Hicks is going to kill him twice a year.

Maybe it was injuries. Or maybe it is a lack of sustained ability.
