The blurb in the Strib says that Dubnyk's wife is undergoing a medical procedure this week. There are no more details than that. Hopefully, all goes well and she has the best possible outcome for whatever it is.

How many people were staring at her on Sunday night during his on-ice ceremony?
Bet she hated that.
It was good to see her, (for curiositys sake) and she looked great.

I agree - I was looking at her, trying to guess her infirmity. She DID look great, and in that snap-shot moment it was impossible to figure out what was wrong.

How about her mother, though? Sorry but she looks like one of those women who probably kept dressing like her teenage daughter even when that teenage daughter was no long a teenager. The perfectly coifed hair, lots of make-up, tight pants and perfect nails ... Maybe she was a model at one time in her life and can't accept aging normally.

Boy, am I catty today!

I've seen the kind of creature you're describing, Lynn. Like mom thinks the mean girls are going to invite her to sit at their table. Of course, mom was probably a mean girl herself, back in the day.

Can't help but watch other games weekly, and think … "they play at a different speed than we do"
Maybe it's just me.
Kings/Stars last night felt like warp speed stuff, comparatively.

Could be some old-timey hockey tonight in CALgary
These teams started to hate each other at the end of the game the other night.
Could be fun.

No it's not.

Would you say that overall team speed is decreased with Zucker out?

Probably is slightly
Speed in his case doesn't translate into instant production.
He flies around a lot, and accomplishes nothing most nights.

The Wild would do better in speed contests outside of a hockey game. The ability to skate fast does not necessarily equate to a team's ability to play fast. There are a lot of other factors like how quickly you make a decision with the puck, how well and accurately you trigger an outlet pass, etc. There is also the idea that a line is only as fast as its slowest player. For example, we have our fastest skater, Kevin Fiala, paired with a sled like Mikko Koivu.

Do you guys remember Stephane Veilux? That guy could absolutely fly! I thought he would turn into a superstar.

The human heat seeking missile? You thought he had superstar written all over him? I just remember him having a willingness to run headlong into the boards.

Yes. He was affectionately known as 'punching bag'

Why? He got picked on by the opposing enforcers?

At his peak, I think he was faster than Sami Kapanen.

I wouldn't call it 'picked on'. He had more of a career that was "hey there's a scrum. let me stroll on over and have a look"......."OMG I'M GETTING MY TOTAL ASS HANDED TO ME AGAIN ".......

He was kind of the skinny Matt Foley of the NHL. JMO though.
