Well, Guerin did say that he would not make a deal just for the sake of making a deal. Looks like that's what the Parise deal would have amounted to.

Too bad none of Dubes/Dumba/Brodin/Koivu/Parise were moved.

Mikko and Zach need to retire.

Mikko is at least done here after this year. It's also encouraging that Parise was willing to waive his NMC and Guerin was actively looking to trade him.

Yup, the only good thing about today … is the shine has come off a couple guys bald spots.
No one's above it, and thank god for that.
Shoulda been that way for awhile now.
If they now somehow figure out their #1 goalie can't goaltend, we might be on to something.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I get the impression that Zach is about as ready to move on as we are to see him move on.

Oh yeah, gives the "checked-out" feel for sure, even more than usual.

Will he take his partner with him again? Or is that more wishful thinking? LOL

Doubt it, but that's OK. I'll gladly take the either or scenario.

It sucks because they had to play him to highlight him up until the trade deadline....now we will see if they play him. I would make him ride the pine until he asks to be traded....

That period is WHY the Wild piss us off.
Obviously mad about trade rumors.
Why does it take that to play hard?

Patteryn and Dumba are horrendous.
Dubnyk would have given up 10 tonight
Yes. 10

Remember the other night when everyone’s telling ya that Binnington is the greatest goalie ever?
And how it’s not the Wilds fault they couldn’t score on him?
Hawks have 5 on him already.
No. It’s YOU Wild. It’s all YOU.

Who put the quarter in Koivu?

Those 2 goals last night could very well be his last hurrah in the NHL. He's had a good run, but it most definitely is over.

30 games without a goal
Time to break out my ……. "when you play a regular shift, a puck should deflect in off your head/nutcup every 10-15 games"
For a guy to play 30 games, as much as he plays, and get nada?
That's not good, fellas. Can we please just talk some reality here?
I'm liking Evason, seems like a helluva guy …. but he gives me the "this guy is a legend, he plays" … vibe.

Carter and LaPanta keep doing the "oh goody, Koivu out for this big faceoff" thing now too.
Puck drops, then it gets quiet … "Jackets win the faceoff"
Yeah, like EVERY time.

Yeah, like EVERY time.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I actually saw Mikko win a faceoff. I think the announcers are putting the "Hail Mikko" into overdrive because they know it's his last season.

Gorg was throwin salt in the open wounds last night like a boss
"whats it like to be a 4th liner now"
"how hard was it to listen to the trade rumors all week and then not go anywhere"

Made even an asshole like me cringe.

Read a story last night how we Wild fans are going to regret pissing Parise off.
Said he's upset that his name came up at all, and "maybe" he might just want to move on.
I just love it when people overestimate their worth.

Good! Let him be pissed off. Maybe he will play better.
