What was with that late TO call by F' Zimmer?

Denv was out of TO's and a rookie qb and they looked way confused and Zim bails them out. What a fool.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

Ideally, you have a defense that can pressure the rook in a situation like that... but the way we were playing... if you are caught in any type of mismatch it's easy TD.

Probably the right call to get Kearse on the field.

To protect Rhodes.

I watched the last 3 plays. Rhodes had help every play and sometimes 2 guys.

I noticed that too

Crazy game

Kirk destroyed a very good defense ( at home)

Obviously the defense is a mess and I have no idea what they can do to fix it

The offense is good, can't wait to get Theilen back. Really stupid to play him in KC IMO

Hope for even more improvement from oline

did holton hill plat a defensive snap today?....

Didn't see him out there

Discipline?

Had to have been. The way our DBs played most of the game.

On another note, does the good doctor think we might have to sweat out Cook's shoulder? He kept playing but was moving it(on sideline) around like something was wrong.

Not concerned yet

Agree

And it was like the 15th play of the drive

in the first half stefanski was only calling runs and very short pass plays - kept the entire defense up near the line and we couldn't move the ball at all...i think he was ordered to call a conservative ball control offense and it just didn't work at all....

Anyone want to hypothesize who put together and called the conservative O game plan?

And who got to flip the script when it was obvious it needed abandon?

Same thing happened earlier in season after we started with that philosophy...

From DailyNorseman POST OF THE YEAR!!:

Kirk F'n Cousins
Terrible line blocking.

No running game.

Questionable play calling.

20 point deficit.

Comeback for the ages.

All you Cousins haters, all you "Beeker" jackholes, do the right thing. Come on here and admit you’re morons. We know you are, you know you are… come on, admit you’re morons, admit you secretly (and weirdly) actually root for this team to lose so you can look right… admit it all. You’ll feel better.

I don't know the particulars of why he called TO.

But my eyes told me Denv looked very tenative walking to the LOS not even sure if they had a play to run. Allen kept looking over at the sideline.

Lost in Cousins great 2nd half...

For all the gnashing of teeth about the Sendejo signing (me includeded...)

He probably saved that game from being a sure loss.

ANNNNNDDDD.... I don't think he even took anyone out today... so that's nice.

Kirk has been great since October. Even with the fumble lost today he was spectacular. I am just not sure he is our future, he is a three year rental and we could have taken Lamar Jackson at 30 versus Mike Hughes. Pyramid building quarterbacks. Still mad about Ponder and then not addressing in 2012 when they knew they had nothing in him. Loved Teddy pick although once he had the injury it was tough. Had to go with Cousins, but I don't agree with no competition even with guaranteed contract.

I'm a fan of the Denny Green/Bill B approach to QB drafting. I was upset with Hughes over Oline. Jackson wasn't on my radar, to be totally honest.

I'll be at the next game - IN SEATTLE!

I've heard that's an awesome place to take in a game. Hopefully we use Hill more in that one! Rhodes is toast.

The defense got old very quickly. I don't think anyone can say we're loaded with talent any longer. The defense is two years beyond its peak.

The scheme sucks too. When we do blitz it seems like we play off coverage. Rhodes needs a seat on the bench. He's a turd now.

I think it may well be all scheme. Not many of our core guys are over 30.

Zim is way too conservative. Esp if he had his finger prints on the first half offensive game plan as one poster suggested.

Linval, when he plays, is mediocre. Harry doesn't make plays as often as he used to. Rhodes is a shadow of his former self. That's a good chunk of what made them really good. Hunter is one bright spot.

How much longer can the Vikings play X Rhodes? How did this guy become so bad suddenly?

Well, a shaky 8-3 going into a bye is much better than a depressing 7-4. I think we all need a break. No team is better than the Vikes at helping their fans shit blood.
