I really thought we were stuck with Bad Cousins yesterday especially after he threw the 1 yard pass on the free play. How he turned it around like that in the 2nd half was amazing! Especially against what is a very tough defense! Cousins is winning close games under adversity lately! Last 2 weeks he's beat a winning team on the road in a close game and brought us back from down 20 in a half against a top 10 D. I imagine he's gaining some confidence through all of this. The Diggs TD was amazing! Reminded me of Jeff George in his prime with the arm strength and trajectory to get it there quickly. He has all the physical tools for sure.

He wasn't throwing downfield in the 1st half. I believe he only had 1 incomplete pass in the 1st half.

If the Packers beat the Niners next week on SNF, they will suddenly jump to the #1 seed and SF drops to #3. These final 6 weeks are going to be FULL of fireworks. Home field advantage is so crucial.

Pretty well aligns what was being posted during the GDT.

Barr seemed uninterested. He is easily our biggest Jekyll & Hyde player. Is either lights out or I want Wilson to replace him.

Speaking of which, after the Gideon got torched, I saw a lot more Wilson. Which was great. Except for the punt Encroachment penalty.

He went and totally redeemed himself with the fumble recovery late ….

Good thing Zimmer had him shadow Sutton for the first half.

Zimmer shows too much blind faith in his starters, they are his men, and from a position coach standpoint when he was a secondary coach or DC thats very commendable and to be expected to gain the trust of that unit.

BUT as a HC he needs to show more understanding of the stats and metrics when a player just inst getting it done, We as a team under Zimmer are very inflexible at making changes for in game line ups with the exception of injuries or suspensions. Otherwise if you are the starter at X spot thats your entrenched position, damned with how you play against the upcoming teams strengths at opposing position.

I just don't understand that aspect of his coaching. It's as though he uses the player's entire performance history to determine who plays on defense.

Is it negative posters ‘driving people away’ or is it that some posters have a compulsive need to control the narrative and can’t tolerate personalities that refuse to conform? Some of both. Plenty of both.

DF it's the level of negativity. Reading this board yesterday, which fortunately I waited until after the game to do, we have one of the worst teams in the NFL. Truth is we have one of the best teams in the NFL.

What used to set these threads apart was the balanced and non reactive nature of the MAJORITY of the posters. I believe that is still the case, unfortunately I think many have become mostly lurkers with just the occasional post, mostly because of the influx of the KFAN rube types. Which has tilted the balance for the schizophrenics even further. Of course they'll never admit to what they are, but people know.

Rhodes can't play like he used to because he has a target on his back. He was always a physical player who grabbed a lot. The PI against him in the first half, the ball was 3 yds out of bounds. Apparently he can't adjust or won't. Time to cut bait. One of the plays that irked me was, the first Bronco drive. How do you leave a tight end uncovered and allow him to run 30 yds down field untouched? That kind of stuff is embarrassing.

The embarrassing moment for me was when Rhodes tried to grab Sutton as he blew by him. All he managed to do was pull Sutton's towel off.

Rhodes absolutely is looked at to the point of refs have his number as being a physical player and keep an eye on him covering the elite receivers in game.

Zimmer much understands Rhodes issues at hand as of late, evidenced by Zimmers remarks of Rhodes will be ok and his game matches that of a phisical power forard in BB.

Here in lies the problem in Zimmers approach to being the HC and getting the tallent on the field best suited for todays game. Zimmer loathes the new rules on how the game is played! He was an old school hard nosed DB position coach, he hates what the league has become.

He knows exactky the skillset of Rhodes and knows its a liability in todays game, but he is so damned stubborn in his ways that he will not make changes to players he feels commited to, be damned with they are costing the team yards and potentially wins...

Zimmer is a dinosaur, maybe a good coach in some ways, but in other ways it hurts him, the team and his ability to make the best suited personel choices to match how todays game is called by the refs as mandated by a league trying to protect skill position players and produce the high scoring exciting product the NFL wants (and Zimmer has total disdain for)...

Bradbury and elf had excellent pass blocking grades - bad run blocking. Rieff had bad for both

Rhodes has always been watched by the refs. His grabbing was so bad he had to wear boxing gloves. More than the rules have led to his collapse, which started last year.

During the game I was as pissed off as everyone else. Then after they won, I'm thinking, is this a good team. I actually think they are. Their depth got tested and for the most part did their job. I think one of the reasons why were seeing more from Rudy is, teams have to focus more on Irv Smith as he is getting better, When they start fast, they are hard to beat, when they start slow, everything seems to get magnified, offense and defense and ST. This is becoming Cousin's team, they go as he goes. The secondary is scary, but I think it can be fixed. I would start Hughes over Rhodes and live with it. He has way more upside than Rhodes imo. I think the Seattle game will tell us a lot.

Good point on that TD to Diggs and the comparo to George. Except, George could deliver it with practically no arc. Still, shades of George!

We missed him - second only to Cook in importance to the offense.

Impressive we went 4-1 during those 5 games and lost on a last second field goal.

Seattle's defense isn't very good, especially against the pass. Certainly beatable as long as the Vikings don't take a half to get going.
