I think Waynes and Hill should be are starting outside cb's.

What has happened to Alexander? Both he and Hughes are playing like Rhodes.

Seems like miscommunication or something going on back there.

Thankfully LAC were a complete turnover machine.

hughes and alexander are being exposed for their height deficiencies...why is hughes covering williams?...he's 6-4 -- hughes is 5-10...the same with alexander - covering a tall te in seattle...teams are purposely lining up their tall catchers against our smaller cb's...hill, waynes and rhodes are all over 6-0...we'll be drafting a 6-0+ cb within the first two rounds next year....

zimmer needs to scheme our cb's to closer match the size of the receivers....

it seems that kearse is on his way out - we will not extend him next season unless he takes a minimum wage deal - and i don't think he's happy here anyway....

I think we should extend Kearse. His incident doesn't really bother me.

His size and ability to cover seems good.

Why don't you think he's happy here?

i have always liked kearse, and still do...but his playing time on defense has lessened and he's indicated on social media that he doesn't think his future is with the vikings...he seems to be pouting about any punishment he's received for his indiscretion with alcohol....

it's my opinion that he won't be with the team next season...it makes losing epps even more significant....

Epps has been playing around a quarter of defensive snaps for the Eagles. A lot more than Zimmer was willing to give him and pretty good for a rookie 6th round pick.

Thanks Todd and Rat for pointing that out.

I recall Zim pounding his fist on the draft table for Kearse. So maybe he does value him and will increase his role. He damn well should IMO cuz Kearse with his size and ability can really matchup with TE's and tall wr's.

.
.

for the 2020 season we are already $2m over the cap and only have 37 players signed - we need 16 more players to field a team and that doesn't include the practice squad...a player like kearse is a luxury that we just cannot afford anyway....

don't be surprised to see sendejo on the vikes next season, too...he signed a $1m/yr deal with the eagles this year - i'd think we'd keep him for that next season....

Not sure how Epps is going to turn out but he is playing a quarter of the snaps on a defense that made Dwayne Haskins look good.

I think we will be drafting a corner with one of our top 3 picks.

Rhodes will be gone.
Waynes has a good chance of being gone. Someone will overpay.
Linval might be gone.
Reiff will be gone or big time restructure.

I think we extend Cousins and lower his cap number.

I am more of:
Waynes gone, Griffen gone, Linval restructure, Reiff restructure, Stephen gone, Rhodes restructure due to cap hit (4.8).

I would be more with:

Griffen(restructure): We need all the pass rushers we can get.

Reiff(gone): We have Udoh to take over at RT with O'Neill probably switching to LT

Rhodes(gone): He can't play. Take the hit and move on.

Linval: Restructure unless we get a space eater in FA or Draft.

i tend to agree with your take...we could save about $23m with these four moves....

we'll have to make decisions on these free agents: waynes, alexander, harris, rashon hill, wilson, weatherly and kearse....

the emergence of odenigbo makes things a little easier dealing with the d-line...also, jaleel johnson is playing better than expected....

Rudy keeps performing!

Actually earning that ext. Been really blocking with effort this year. Good to see.

It's definitely one of Rudolph's best seasons. It's the type of season that should be expected and should have been expected in prior seasons. For reference, on average he's the 4th highest paid TE and generates about the 15th best production. Still - a definite improvement this season. He seems to have lost some of his entitlement and that's also a good thing.

many figured that rudolph, griffen and joseph would be easy cuts next year - they're making it very difficult....

rudy is tied for 3rd in td's and has made a few spectacular receptions - he could be the best red-zone receiver in the league....

griffen is top five in qb pressures....

joseph did a hell of a job plugging up the middle last sunday...and he's got a tuned-up knee....

would anyone here trade diggs for a 1st?...it would also save us $15m next season...he's only got five td's....

And seemingly every big play when we need one. Dude has over 1000 yards on 60 receptions (18 yards per).

Do you think Bisi is ready to step up as a #2?

Thielen missed 6 full games and 90% of two others this year. And he'll be 30 going into next season. You do NOT trade Diggs.

If you want to save money, trim the fat from an aging and underperforming defense.

They drafted his replacement and all of a sudden he's playing better. That's the facts jack.

LMAO, only on talkvikes...

Rudolph goes 38 catches for 360 yards and 6 TDs with clear quality replacement in the wings. COMPLETE VINDICATION, greatest red-zone threat in the league, earned his extension, no longer an easy cut.

Diggs goes 60 catches for 1073 yards and 5 TDs and literally the barest shelf of WRs in the league. Trade him. Not specifically this page but in the past - 'shut up and play'.

The issue was his cap # and the Vikes total cap #.....it is going to get tough to decide but they have to start doing some pruning on the roster.

Trade him. Not specifically this page but in the past - 'shut up and play'.

nobody here said they wanted to trade diggs, pal...relax....

Even with a 10 million dollar cap increase and some restructuring, there will be cap casualties.

I think we will be drafting a corner with one of our top 3 picks.

Rhodes will be gone.
Waynes has a good chance of being gone. Someone will overpay.
Linval might be gone.
Reiff will be gone or big time restructure.

I think we extend Cousins and lower his cap number.

I don't see Cousins taking a lower cap #. QBs are getting funny money and Captain Kirk has been playing very well.

Extension = More money up front(signing bonus), lower cap figure because it would be a 4 or 5 year deal.

What position would you draft with that first rounder you mused about trading him for?

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!

I don't think it's been shut up and play. Just don't get a costly 15 yard unsportsmanlike that costs us an extra point or field position.

personally, i would rather keep cousins on a shorter leash...4-5 years is a little too much of a commitment....

Just maybe, you and a few others were flat out wrong about him, and stop the entitlement line, it's complete bullshit. Are you saying someone sat him down and gave him an ultimatum. This isn't high school.

When I think of a 'Man of the Year' candidate every year, I don't think of entitlement.
