Stefanski is probably interviewing right now for the Cleveland coaching position.

https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/browns-to-interview-vikings-offensive-coordinator-kevin-stefanski-for-head-coach?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral

I have no clue as to why Stefanski is considered head coaching material. IMO he has shared OC duties with a grizzled vet in Kubiak for one season with mixed results.

Maybe they think he looks decent and love the fact that he's been learning from Kubiak and other white people.

There, fixed that for you.

P.S. - If it had been Stefon Diggs spotted front row at the Timberwolves game yesterday it would have been an outrage. "Don't you have a game to prepare for?!?!?" But since it was Rudolph it was just great to see him out supporting a fellow MN franchise. The double-standards continue to be mind-blowing.

I reject that. I don't believe their would have been any backlash over Diggs attending a Timberwolves game during his down time.

Me too. They show Vikings players at Timberwolves games all the time. It's not a big deal. I'd go so far as to say the majority of fans really appreciate players supporting other Minnesota franchises.

Do fans think Vikings players should be running routes and catching passes off the juggs machine at 8pm on a Thursday?

This is tilting at windmills.

Who says you never learn something here? Had to look that one up.

It's a truly great phrase.

Sir Ulrich Von Liechtenstein would always tilt when he should withdraw.

Ludford responded to my question about Rhodes covering Kittle. He thought my idea was interesting, but prefers we do what we've been doing because it has been working.

I guess I'm more eager to try something new.

Tim Arcand responded to the same question saying he would like to see Kearse cover him. I like that idea, but I believe he is out for the game.

I don't see this as a good matchup for Rhodes. (Covering speedy receivers)

Well that wasn’t very nice. Are we supposed to change people’s posts and then repost them? Seems wrong.

What a good article written up by Rudolph.

The guy has been such a good player/teammate/man the downright disrespect he's received from some fans is quite frankly embarrassing. Just because he wasn't as good as some of the most elite TE's in the game. Some of you squawked loudly and often too. SMH.

Certainly Rudy has left it all out on the field this year. His pass catching numbers don't reflect it but his effort in YAC and blocking do. Plus when he was not getting targeted early in the season when Zim was going run heavy, he didn't complain like a couple other guys.

However, in the past he didn't give this type of effort. So some of the disrespect was warranted.

When was that?

his first 8 seasons

Kevin Seifert was on the radio. I've never been much of a fan of his because he is not a fan of our team, (ie. he doesn't say what we want to hear) but he does offer his opinions objectively. He was saying that the Niners will be tough for the Vikings because of their defensive line. Teams with dominant defensive lines give the Vikings trouble. Cousins does not have escapability and he often takes more time than average to pick out his receivers. It helps if we can get some traction with the running game, but if we get behind or if the running game is impotent, then they will be pinning their ears back, as they say. The play action won't work and by the way the Niners use play action in their offense so the defense must see a lot of it in their practices.

That being said we have a really good defensive line too that has seen play action in practices too. Garappolo gets nervous in the pocket and doesn't have playoff experience.

Who knows what will happen, but the Niners are favored heavily and there are reasons for that. The Vikings will have to keep their mistakes to a minimum- not only avoiding the turnovers, but also the drive busting holding penalties. On defense they will have to make their one on one tackles in space and make good adjustments as the game progresses.

We have to know that the chances are not high, but there is still hope. We beat the Saints at their place last Sunday.

I'm not sure what the Yankee Concept is which is referred in the article. so I found this:

Among professional football teams, the play-action passing concept called “Yankee” is used widely, week-in and week-out. The concept is quite versatile and can be used from multiple formations, personnel groups, and a variety of backfield actions.

Here's the article written by Daniel House.

On the same subject of the Yankee Concepts:

Great read ahead of tomorrow, along with this article from
@QBKlass

49ers play a lot of Cover 3, which the Vikings like to exploit with play action/boots to deep crossers/yankee. How the 49ers defend it & how the Vikings adapt may dictate the outcome.

@DanPizzuta

Wrote about how in San Francisco's defensive decline in the second half of the season, they struggled to cover deep crossing routes and why that's potentially great news for the Vikings, who are quite good at running them.

Here is the interesting comment from the article referenced above:

The Vikings' win last week actually improved the 49ers' odds of going to the Super Bowl; removing the Saints from the picture means the 49ers are undisputedly the best team remaining in the NFC. Then again, the Vikings are a tougher draw than either the Eagles or Seahawks would have been, both in general and specifically matchup-for-matchup with the 49ers. A case of "be careful what you wish for."

Daniel House read my comment and told me to read this previous article that he wrote about the play action offense. I'll say this. It's complicated.

Rudolph has been a productive receiver for us throughout his career.

Yes he has. That is not what is in question.

It has been his effort in blocking. Mediocre until this year.

His YAC. Nonexistent until this year.

Rudolphs career YAC: 4.2 ypc
Rudolphs 2019 YAC: 4.2 ypc

But I'm sure the blocking statement is factual.

Hell, our OC had enough free time to interview with the Browns yesterday so maybe the team made it through all the tape they wanted to see. Gameplan done early on a short week. Easy Peasy.

What does that have to do with a player on his free time after doing all
he is supposed to do. You think Rudy is being a slacker because he went
to a basketball game? You think people would be pissed if Diggs went to
a game. Why?

Since their bye week no one has created more turnovers in the NFL than the Vikings (17)

And it’s not even close.
