Looking at the 49ers game. We got destroyed because we couldn't stop the run and couldn't run the ball.

Did we get any closer with this draft?

They traded Breida. Stopping the run should no longer be a problem against them.

Pat Elflain is breathing a lot easier

What do we have like 3 G's on the roster?

Assuming they make Elf compete, camp battles for two starting spots. Not bad, and competition is good.

It could be (and I am ok with this) Cleveland, Reiff, Bradbury, Samia, and O'neill. Udoh wild card at LG, and O'Neill wild card at LT. I think this was Spielman and Dennison's plan all along? Got to see if what we drafted the over the last three years will work.

Yikes! Who's our backup QB again?....

In the 'if the season started tomorrow' scenario, I see holes at LG and nickel. Assume Samia to RG.

I think Dantzler or Hughes or Gladney could all play Nickel.

If I were guessing our line is:

Reiff, Collins, Bradbury, Samia, ONeil.

That's pretty scary.

Agreed. If I'm Cousins I am not a happy camper right now. Hey, maybe Cleveland slides in to LG and is an upgrade over Elflein (the bar is pretty low), and maybe Bradbury plays better than he did last year (again, pretty low bar), and maybe Samia is an upgrade over Kline (who he couldn't beat out for the position last year). But its just as likely that we start the year with Reiff, Elf, Bradbury, Samia, O'Neill. As usual, we have huge question marks all across the oline going into next season. It's just unacceptable that RS has allowed this to happen yet again.

I think Cleveland will be a starter, we just don't know where. I'm kind of seeing:

LT Cleveland
LG Reiff
C Bradbury
RG Samia or Udoh
RT O' Neill

It's not ideal, but serviceable. You could probably flip those tackles, as well.

Prince was considered a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I wonder why the hell he hasn't been drafted?

Now that Rhodes is gone, Elflein is the poster child for the incumbent keeping the job regardless of putrid play.

I could have put Elflein in that rotation above, but I don't think he beats out competition at G, honestly. I really liked him coming out of Ohio State w/ his wrestling background (not to mention Zim's affinity for it), but he has really disappointed.

There's a good pedigree there, IIRC.

Good question. On D, is Lynch an upgrade over Stephen and Watts at DT, and on O can Cleveland play right away at G or LT?

No

At least not along the oline

When the play action isn't working, our line gets pushed around. That's not going to change.

Would have personally liked Watkins instead of Osborn... but then again what do I know.
