ORIGINAL: Bill Johanesen Someone here made a good point a few days ago... vote as you wish of course but admit your want/need for something out of the outcome means you are willing to accept his divisiveness, racist attitudes/cat-calls, etc. Evangelical Christians for example may want their voice to be heard and someone to defend them from attacks on religion. But they have to be ok with the same person who has had multiple divorces, says you can grab women by the p****, lies as a matter of habit, name calls pretty much anyone he disagrees with, says there are "good people on both sides" when the Neo-Nazis marched in Charlottesville, etc, etc, etc. But what has he actually delivered? He had soldiers forcibly clear the streets so he could get in a VERY awkward bible-holding photo op. So what!? Seems like an awful lot of willing trade-offs so they can hear him spout an occasional pro-religion/God soundbite. And if they'd only listen they would hear Democrats give an occasional soundbite in their favor as well... I remember when Trump helped write 1994 crime bill and famously said "Lock the SOBs up" I remember Trump admiring a KKK Grand Wizard and spoke fondly of him at his funeral. I remember when Trump said "You can't go to a 7-11 unless you have a slightly Indian accent. And many more racist statements that Trump said are all over the internet. But, people who claim that they despise Racism will still vote for him. Mark IIRC you are a conservative right? I'm more likely to take your allegations against Trump as being legit if they're coming from a conservative. I'm not a fan of Donald Trump. He's a rude, crude dude. I mildly enjoy him being the anti-politician and not Presidential. I think Politician and Corrupt politician are synonymous. I never heard one peep about Trump being a racist when he was building hotels and casinos employing many minorities at very good wages. I never heard one peep about Trump being a racist when he was hosting the apprentice show. However, when he becomes a politician all of a sudden he's a racist. Help me out here. How was Trump involved in a crime bill when he wasn't in politics? What's wrong with lockng SOBs up? That's interesting about him being a fan of a KKK Grand Wizard. Tell me more. I might look into that. The 7-11 stereotype was just a flat out stupid thing to say. We all say stupid things sometimes. I was roommates with some Indians for a year. I enjoyed the exposure to Indian culture for that time. Other than that my only exposure to Indians is via TV and Movies. I see TV shows and movies all the time (Simpsons for one) portraying Indians as clerks at 7-11 type stores. Is there some truth to Indians being overproportionally employed as store clerks? I need a lot more to go on than this before I come to a conclusion that Trump is a racist. I have to see evidence that he is against people simply because of their skin color. Making a few stupid comments is not proof of being a racist to me. I heard something about some apartment complex he was involved in not renting fairly to persons of color. I don't know how much he was involved or how true the allegations are. I know that liberals will come up with everything they can to try to discredit him so I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt until I see what I truly consider a smoking gun against him. Maybe he's a racist, but it will take a lot more than allegations by liberals to convince me. As for voting I didn't vote for Trump last time and I doubt I will vote for him this time. I don't think he is worthy of my vote. However, his political values are closer to mine than liberal candidates. So if I were to vote for him or Biden I would vote for Trump.
