Can we all agree if the Oline sucks this season Speilman should be fired?

Nope. I was the first to declare that the O Line sucks back in the last year Peterson won the rushing title. It has been the same or gotten worse since, but I don't think that means we should fire Spielman.

Wrong. Others said the OL sucked before you did.

Wrong. I was the first. No question about it. Peterson was winning the Rushing Title and I still said they sucked. I may have even said they sucked the year before that. I was declaring the OL at that time the worst in Vikings history. I am also the person who for as long as I've been watching NFL Football back in 1970 who said OL is the most important position.

Nope. Others beat you to that conclusion well before.

You have your right to be wrong Bill. If you go back to the posts from that time I was pretty much alone.

You are wrong, deal with it. A group of posters were ahead of you.

You are so very wrong Bill. I don't know if the message board from that time is still accessible, but if it is you will see I was the first and pretty much only one declaring the OL the problem at that time. It doesn't matter how many times you reply saying I was wrong. It doesn't change the facts.

I like this PFN Mock I came up with.

Minnesota Vikings

MIN
14.

Christian Darrisaw
OT Virginia Tech
MIN
78.

Payton Turner
EDGE Houston
MIN
90.

Rondale Moore
WR Purdue
MIN
119.

Royce Newman
OG Ole Miss
MIN
125.

Ar'Darius Washington
S TCU
MIN
134.

Drew Dalman
OC Stanford
MIN
143.

Dayo Odeyingbo
EDGE Vanderbilt
MIN
157.

Quintin Morris
TE Bowling Green
MIN
168.

Josh Palmer
WR Tennessee
MIN
199.

Richard LeCounte
S Georgia

I think it covers just about all the bases with quality. Lacking a DT and QBotF, but you can't always get what you want.

I might get strung up for this one, but IMO the value was too good to pass up. I traded 14 and 78 and got 89 in this year's draft and two FRPs and two SRPs in next years. Delayed gratification similar to what the Cowboys got for Trading Herschel Walker.

Would never happen in a million years so why bother with it?

Teddy moving on to his 4th team since leaving MN to push Lock and maybe start.

Restructured his deal - similar to Barr. Will be a FA after 2021.

Maybe CAR pulls an Arizona & drafts a QB they like even with Darnold (vs Rosen).

Denver probably not drafting a QB now.

I often play out how it might have been if Teddy hadn't had that one freak misstep.

Even with it with us sticking with him

I think we'd have fired better, year to year, playing Zim ball with him. Instead of how it's gone with Cousins.

If Denver was previously likely to draft a QB and Teddy is now only in the 'maybe/push Lock' category, then Denver will still be looking to draft a QB.

6th rounder for a starter? Carolina is even paying part of his contract so they don't have much invested. I think Teddy is in a battle for the backup spot.

No tears for Teddy as read that Panthers paid him $31 million for 15 games (likely includes the $7 million they are paying him for Denver).

I started declaring the Vikings O Line to be the worst in at least their history either the season Peterson won the Rushing Title the last time or the year before. I forget which. Was that 13 years ago?

I just looked it up. It wasn't 13 years ago. It was 2015 when Peterson won his last rushing title. If Somebody complained about the O Line 13 years ago they were barking up the wrong tree. The O Line was much better in 2008 than it was in 2015 moving forward. The line bottomed out and has stayed bottomed out ever since.

I should no better than to engage in any convo with you. As stated I was a voice crying out from the wilderness more or less alone. Was their ever an O Line complaint before me? Of course, but I was the one who stuck my neck out and got it chopped off a bit. The Vikings had a history of exemplary O Line play from when I first started watching them in 1970 until either the season Peterson last won the rushing title or the year before. At this point I don't recall which.

I just checked the posts from 40 years ago and there are a bunch of posters saying the O-line needs help but none from kg.

I remember well the cold January day back in 1960 when the Minnesota Vikings were awarded a NFL franchise and I turned to my good friend Bud Grant, then a CFL Coach, and I said: "You know those Vikings are really going to need some offensive line help" and cemented my claim as the first fan in history to complain about the Vikings offensive line.

Brad, I think it probably boils down to the 49ers, whether they pick Justin Fields or Trey Lance. I was originally thinking the 49ers would take Fields over Lance because of more experience, and experience against better defenses.

But considering they were beat by Mahomes in the SB, and if they're looking for what Garrapollo doesn't bring, they may value mobility stronger, in which case they would choose Lance. That probably makes more sense.

So then it is Fields that drops, I just don't think Fields will drop very far. I think he gets drafted before Mac Jones. We'll know fairly soon.

The draft is always fun to watch for about three rounds.

I always liked doing yard work on Saturday during the draft...not sure if I like the Thursday/Friday/Saturday more.

I've always thought it would be a good idea to offer the fastest man in the country in the 7th round. Not even sure you can, but Christian Coleman in the 7th would be my pick. Dude is banned from the Olympics. May have an axe to grind with track & field.

If he's even, he's leavin. That's my theory. Ain't nobody catching him in the open field.

Dude ran a 4.12 in 2017.
